Another CBS 3 round mock

Dallas won't take a SS over a corner because they aren't that stupid.

The only way they take a SS is if the board is whiped or they solved the corner issue in FA which looks unlikely.

Chaisson is a project. I like him, as I love adding edge players, but frankly, I would only take him at 17 as a last resort kind of thing. I think guys taken lower like Okwara could be as good, if not better.

Henderson? Yeah I know everyone loves him but the fact he seems scared crapless to tackle at times is a red flag to me. But I am in the minority on that one.

Kinlaw? That's the guy that would tick me off if we passed on him.

He's a "project" at a premium position and his pass rush traits jump off the screen.

Chaisson is 20 years old and he's already viewed as a middle of the 1st round kind of guy..

If he were to go back to LSU he could be a top 10 pick.. Whoever gets him is going to be lucky.

The dude flies off the edge.

people only like Henderson because he ran fast.
nobody was talking about him before the combine..

If the draft really fell that way, I think my picks would be:

Round 1 - Kinlaw
Round 2 - Kmet
Round 3 - Hamler

Chaisson reminds me a bit of Vander Esch, in the sense that they just had one breakout year and little else. There is risk to that, but the hope is that their big leap-forward year comes for you in the NFL.

LVE steadily progressed his last year in Boise from kind of shaky at the beginning to destroyer of worlds in the bowl game against Oregon. Chaisson's season had the same trajectory, and he took over the bowl game against Oklahoma on defense (Burrow and co were handling it just fine on offense). I think he is right on the cusp.

And as far as Henderson... if I were the Cowboys, I would really be talking to his coaches. Dude has top 10 talent, and I have no questions about his game in coverage. Just got to see if there's any attitude or effort issues or what's the deal behind the tackling and does it run deeper.

This can be tricky. Last year the UCF coaching staff trashed Trysten Hill, but Hill said he had no problem with his old coach and I think the coach said he had no problem with Hill, so who do you believe there.

I'd take those following 3 picks over our pick in the first!
Shenault in the 2nd is good value.
Holmes in the 3rd I am not a fan of as a fit considering he is a slot CB.

My mock if the draft fell this way.
Chaisson & CJ Henderson would be the two I draft between, and IMO finding a true 4-3 RE is tough to find and Chaisson is a guy who is raw but gives you a ton of upside so that is why he would be my pick. He gives you the ability to play him as a 3 down play base at SLB, and pass rush at RE.
1st Chaisson DE/LB
2nd round depends on if we re-sign Cooper, and if we do I am drafting Justin Madabiuke to be my 3tech DT if not I am sticking with the Shenault pick.
3rd If we went Shenault in the 2nd I am drafting Terrell Burgess he plays safety and has some slot CB, if not I am drafting Michael Pittman.

Ideal fit
Chaisson DE/LB LSU
Justin Madabuike DT Texas A&M
Michael Pittman WR USC

Hope we spent some money on DL help in FA because CBS (Wilson) went S, WR, CB with our first three picks.

I like McKinney. I think he's a better pick at S than Delpit for us. But if Kinlaw is on the board and we take McKinney, I might break crap.
Eagles and Bills picks will be interesting. I live in Bills country, and it seems they are high on Higgins. Good channce he is there first.

Who do the Eagles like?

I like McKinney but Kinlaw is the pick if he's there. That mock stinks.

After doing this little mock scenario, we desperately need to invest in S in FA. This class has some players that are intriguing, but nobody I comfortable drafting especially early on.
Delpit: Tackling issues
McKinney: Less impressive than a the 3 Safeties who went in the end of 2nd round and he is being mentioned as a 1st round guy.
Winfield: Good player, older player, who lacks length.
Duggar: Very intriguing but the level of competition worries me.

To me this is not the year to draft safety early, and honestly Donovan Wilson might be just as good as all of these guys and we got him day 3.

CBS seems to have the worst draft experts. If Kinlaw makes it to 20 I will be shocked. If he's there at 17 and the Cowboys pass on him to take McKinney its a sign we are going to get 25 more years of losing.
