Another Day Another Mock In the week of the Combine
See Minnesota signing Kirk Cousins with Bradford, Keenam, and other free agent QBs siging as place holder for drafted QBs. See Browns, Giants, Broncos, Jets, Cardinals, Bills, and possibly Miami taking QBs in the 1st round with outside chance the Patriots, Steelers and Jaguars maybe jumping the gun in most likely second round.
Believe Colts will end up trading down for a team wanting a QB, probably to Broncos, Jets, or Cardinals. Probably could get two 1s and two 2s from Cardinals and a 3. Something like 1st, 2nd in 2018, 1st, 3rd in 2019, and 2nd in 2020.
Cowboys will tender Irving with I believe a 2nd round pick and believe Colts will ultimately sign him and Cowboys won’t match.
The Dez Bryant thing is just confusing. I could see him staying, being released or even traded (with a package of other guys i.e. Scandrick, Hanna, even Beasley) but just to hard to predict what may happen although something of a trade probably goes down before free agency instead during the draft though. Seems to be the trend this year on trades between teams.
As much as I hope Edmunds or James or even Ridley to be there at #19, don’t believe they will be and Dallas trades down with Pittsburgh for #28 and #60 for #19.
#28 Leighton Vander Esch OLB/ILB Boise St. – will start at SAM position but should be Lee’s eventual replacement, good player now, big upside
#36 Kolton Miller OT UCLA – a swing tackle to begin with but could mature into a RT quickly, should see vast improvement to the line right away being the swing
#50 Kyzir White SS West Virginia – a hitter and tackler, great size, length and team captain, a football guy all the way, see him replacing Heath
#60 DJ Chark WR LSU – showed many of potential in the Senior Bowl, great size, great speed with separation skills, nice hands, could see him in 4 WR sets from the start
#81 Josey Jewell LB Iowa – if we don’t resign Hitchens, this is his replacement, great football guy and great instincts and will play all 3 LB spots, quality depth
#116 Nathan Shepherd DT Fort Hayes St. – can play 3 tech or 1 tech, strong, did very well against good competition at Senior Bowl, strong and fairly fast for his size
Dallas trades #137 and #173 to Bal for #118
#118 Brandon Facyson CB Virginia Tech – could be a sleeper that new secondary coach likes with size, length, and speed to be a shutdown type corner
#171 Larry Allen OG Harvard - not rated by many boards and seems to be concern as to if he wants to play football, betting here he does and out to prove he is just as good a LG as his father was, could see him starting at LG from day one
#193 Akrum Wadley RB Iowa – rated higher but see him falling due more of just a 3rd down back with great speed, cutting ability, and catches the ball out of the backfield very well
#208 Godwin Igwebuike S Northwestern – good size, great tackler, motivator, leader on defense, can play SS or FS and well, great attitude
#236 Cedrick Wilson WR Boise St – good size, good length, needs more weight, very good football player and knows how to put in the work, could work into replacing Williams
NO DE as feel that Lawrence, Charlton, Jones, Tapper and Gregory will be the five we keep. Priority UDFA should be interesting.
