could dez really be suspended for something so minor....lol.....he bruised his moms wrist wooooowwwwwww. It seems like he only grabbed her by the wrist to stop her from hitting him or something like that. Who looks to hurt someone by grabbing them by the wrist?????? Girls are delicate I mistakenly bruised my girl wrist one time by just grabbing her. Now I am only 6ft and 178lbs. Dez is a cut up 6'2 or 6'3 and 210+ lbs, with giant hands. I can see how he could of easily bruised her.

Dez mom is not a normal mom she is looking for money even if its her own son. she hasn't been a mom to him before and now he got money and she is trying to milk him. What better way then a settlement or going to court. Dez needs to distant his self from his mom and bad friends. The cowboys is now your family son. Garrett is your dad. Jerry your grandfather:laugh2: and your teammates are your brothers. case closed.

If you or I did something like this to our wives or mother's we would go straight to jail. Most states have now have a no excuse policy when someone puts their hands on a family member. He needs to man up and accept his punishment like a man. I expect at least a 2 game suspension for him. There is no valid excuse for this no matter his upbringing. If he can't control himself, he needs to stay far away from his family.

If he gets two games for a single misdemeanor, then nick fairley should get 8 games for two DUI's this offseason.

DUI's kill innocent people everyday.

I wouldn't be the least surprised if Dez didn't get a one or two game susension out of this. Roethlisberger got suspended even though charges were dropped.

And forget about finding a Laurent Robinson. That was a once in ten years type of signing. Out of nowhere.

If it is fully revealed that Dez went crazy like his mom said, then YES he needs to be disciplined. The problem, however, is that nothing is adding up to me right now. A couple of my police buddies (P.G. County, MD) have stated that what she is claiming ("he tried to kill me") and her "injuries" are not adding up. Her injuries, according to both of them, ARE consistent with a person trying to stop another person from advancing/attacking THEM. We ALL agreed that is he was truly trying to beat his mom down, the injuries would have been present the moment the cops arrived on the scene. One of them even came up with this interesting theory based on Angela Bryant's tumultuous past - SHE was the aggressor for whatever reason (the consensus for us all was that she was high) and Dez is being quiet because he doesn't want his mother to get into any more trouble with the law. Also, they both said the little brother will OBVIOUSLY be asked to testify because if his tweet.

Anyone else notice how quiet Dez and his handlers have been after that first day?

Everything is speculation right now and I'm sure if this does go to trial or summary judgement some additional facts may come to light. If the Dallas DA goes ahead with the case you know there is more involved than meets the eye. I still say it's time for him to wise up and stay away from people who can get him into trouble. He's fast running out of chances to become a Cowboy legend. If he actually did what they say, even if he was really trying to get to his brother, then he needs to pay the price and Dallas needs to hedge their bets.

All of these football players who get into trouble and into the news need to be held strictly accountable. Suspension warranted... When do we quit coddling these football players. They need to be treated like everyone else. No better, no worse.

When are people going to be sent home with out pay in real life for actions like this oh wait we want to hold a double standard.

Let it runs it's course if he is convicted then you can worry about suspending him this is over blown by the Dallas media and the fans on this site. He is not going to be suspend for a misdemeanor. If so then a lot more football players would be suspend from this summer including 7 Lion players.

It's funny how many people here know exactly what happened

You didn't mean what you said did ya? If you get hauled to the police station for domestic violence and your company or boss finds out, find out how fast you can be fired for good...not just suspended. I my profession, a dui, or drugs, or any crime can get you fired... It will also affect you if you ever want to be hired again in that profession. Most companies can fire for any reason and if you get into trouble most don't want that reflection on them. Geez....

Again we don't know all the details. Much of this will hinge on what Dez and the other witnesses present. Her testimony will matter but she is tainted some. All these situations are not alike and some need to be evaluated as a whole. The arresting officer and DA have a lot of input as will an attorney for Dez. It's complicated. This isn't a simple case of they came and saw an injured party and made an arrest.

Funny how Dez could get a 4-game suspension for a misdemeanor charge. If he does, then the NFL should be suspending players a full season if they get a DUI and banning them from the league for their 2nd offense. Absolutely ridiculous. The NFL has it in for us... Dez's mom could drop all charges and confess she was lying and they would still suspend Dez for 1 game just so we wouldn't be at full-strength against the Giants.

I was arrested for bank robbery about 10 years ago by a swat team (true story), i was released 3 hours later and never charged because some "friends" thought it would be a funny prank to call a tip hotline and say i had been bragging about it and spending a lot of money. Should i have been fired or suspended for that?

Lots of innocent people get arrested, getting arrested does not automatically make you guilty

You realize that if NFL players got fired for arrests, 50% of the current players wouldn't be eligible to play and as a result the NFL would be less enjoyable to watch than women's hockey...

I agree completely with the theory posited. I think he was defending himself and caught her wrists and held them a little too hard so she could not get them free to continue trying to hit him.

Maybe so but I sure think more highly of a guy whose had some DUIs than I do someone who assaulted his mother.

Of course you do.

Mickey Spagnola agrees.

It is the only consistent theory unless you can posit something else on how her wrists are what was injured, which I highly doubt you can, but I'd be interested.

Her other son says Dez didn't hit her and he was there. So he did not hit her, how else were the wrists injured?

As do i. Its not neccessarily easy but i think the best thing for dez to do would be distance himself fro, his family and his mother. Nobody wants to hear that, but she just seems like trouble

1) You don't know what happened, but you're quick to assume Dez is blameless...

2) Even if your scenario is absolutely correct, the law calls that domestic violence...

3) Sadly for us Cowboys fans, if Dez is convicted of misdemeanor domestic assault, the Commissioner will indeed probably issue a suspension... even if you think what he did was "minor"...
