obviously its shocking to everyone that he was available at that pick....and I'm ecstatic. a few things i haven't heard too many mention...

1) Dez may prove to be the biggest steal of this draft
2) Dez very well may have won the heisman had he not gotten unjustly suspended. He had already compiled a more impressive highlight film that most if not all of the actual heisman finalists and he would've gotten 8-9 more games. He also already had two PR for TDs in only 4 games in addition to his highlight reel TD catches. His offensive stats were also going to add greatly to his case. He would've easily finished with 1200 yards and 10-15 TDs. If Dez won the Heisman, he would've been a top 8 pick easily.
3) Dez is a TO-clone (except that he is also a great PR and hopefully without the 'tude). Dez will drop an occasional easy ball or run a bad route (see Houston game) but he will also make the miraculous catch look routine. He is a yards after catch monster (like TO) and he's a nightmare to bring down for DBs (like TO). He's physical and imposes his will on DBs and easily beats press and jamming (like TO). One thing he may do better than TO is winning jump balls. He is going to bully a lot of DBs.

I have to say I've been pretty critical of Dez and I admittedly would not have been a big fan of trading WAY up for him. But where we got him with the weapons we already have....should be entertaining and exciting. I hated our 2009 draft but this draft had me at "Dez", esp at 24.

Oh man, his hands look far better than TO's. He does have similar physique compared to Andre Johnson and TO.

Ultimately his suspension is what got him to Dallas. He stays in school and even sniffs the Heisman he goes top ten no doubt.

Thank you Mr. Sanders

I don’t understand all the TO comparisons other than his general size. TO never went up for a ball. Rarely caught with his hands. Struggled to get off the jam. Would fall down after contact. Wouldn’t make the tough catches over the middle.

I can understand the TO comparisons.

The comparisons I dont get is the Randy Moss comparison.

That one i can see. His jump ball skills is what makes him special.

Except he is way more well rounded out the gate.

Bryant actually brings a possession skill set to the table.

What exactly does that mean?

Its means he can run the entire route tree and be effective. He isn't affraid to go in traffic.

Speaking of hands, NO FUMBLES in college.

I agree with that. Well, once we see this guy play more we will get a better idea of his skill set.

Just start comparing him to Andre Johnson. It's a lot easier. The TO comparisons will only bring more controversy.

Bryant hands are one of his best atrributes... Andre Johnson clone.

Always thought of Johnson as a little faster, but Dez really seems to have a really fine upside. I hope he is as low-maintenace as Johnson fo' sho'.
