Another game without an INT for our D. We have been bottom 10 in INTs and PDs for the last 5 years. This deserves more discussion as turnovers are the ultimate equalizer.
But we have only played one game.

Yeah it's kinda tough to get to get picks when they only attempt 25 throws with a 6.2 yard per attempt.

We did force 2 fumbles though.

Eli will be a good test.

Giants plan this week?

Find Anthony Brown. Throw deep on Brown. Guaranteed touchdown or defensive pass interference

It'll happen.

On a side note, i'm interested to see how we play Odell. Byron or Chido? More press coverage. Normally you'd see a #1 CB cover him or your #2 on him with help over the top, but we're kind of in a unique position where Byron or Chido could line up over him depending on the side of the field. That actually might be beneficial if it throws him off a bit? I don't know. Just thinking out loud.

I am very interested in this stat as the season progresses. Pressure on the QB *should* generate more opportunities for interceptions and PDs, plus we have Kris Richard. I want to see the performance of these 2 metrics rise significantly this year.

I'm just very unhappy about the way the secondary was constructed in general. It's so important in today's NFL, and I feel we have one of the worst DB corps in football.

Why? The corners are good. You can't have all pros at every position.

The longest pass the Cowboys allowed last Sunday was for 19 yards

When the offense is as inept as it was it is hard to get ints on defense.

If we can get out to leads our front 4 can really rush and cause mistakes.

If we are losing and also getting crushed in the battle for field position we have almost no chance. No reason for the opposing team to be aggressive.

Maybe I'm being deluded because I live in New York, where both teams have great safeties, but I would think Heath and Woods are one of the bottom safety tandems in the league.

And yeah Cam didn't pass downfield, but did he have to at any point?

Either way, the pass rush and front 7 is the strength of this defense and should be decent enough to keep us in most games. We all agree the issue with this team is on offense.

They tried to improve the safety position but Seattle would not make the trade.

Yeah, we all know. Very unfortunate.

I guess my biggest problem with the secondary is that there's no ball-hawking playmaker that the other QB has to truly fear. I don't think the unit is more than the sum of its parts, for that very reason.

Give the team 4 games. The next 3 games we play quarterbacks that throw lots of interceptions. I am more worried about are passing attack then are secondary.

Earl Thomas has an INT already this year, just sayin....
