They are not getting ahead on purpose. The moment they sign him they have to take that money out of their bank accounts and either give it to the player immediately or put the guaranteed money in an escrow account. In both cases they do not want to do that because they are a cheap organization.

Steele actually missed the last couple games of 2022 (along with both playoff games) and they still paid him that fall coming off the injury. He had another year left so they could have easily made him play it out.

Ok I stand corrected. I mean healthy or not I didn’t get it because I didn’t see it but I trusted this front office saw something in him to get the deal early. Right idea just wrong player.

Dickerson is better than Tyler Smith. Dickerson is the Eagles Zack Martin, and he has the biggest upper arms I have ever seen.

You also have to remember that Tyler needs to be willing to sign an extension early. If i were him, or any player for that matter, I'd wait to see how much the market goes up for my services before signing.
