There was another guy that reminded me of Delholmme a little only more athletic this offseason. Mike McMahon I wish we could have signed him to see what would have happened.

I like Jake, but his development in Carolina under Coach Dan Henning is something I doubt would have been paralleled here.

Henning is amazing. Got the best year out of Vinnie Testaverde's life, and even turned Ray Lucas into a semblance of a QB....elewhere Lucas flat out flopped. Jake walked into a great situation, with an OC who takes you step by step, week by week, to bigger and better things. Dan's careful but increasingly complex week to week integration of a QB's game with the playbook is what Tuna prolly had in mind when he wanted Jake..and of course, we know Dan was Bill's first choice as OC.

No disrespect to Sean, but in NY, Jim Fasell was the QB developer who got credit for turning Collins around, not Sean.

I just doubt we'd have gotten as much out of Delhomme's readiness to fly.
You mean that wasn't Tuna getting all that out of Vinny and Lucas? ;)

There isn't any doubt we'd have been better off signing Delhomme, especially for such a reasonable amount of money. Makes you sick to even think about passing on him. :(

I'll take it you agree here ...
No, not really. I did not like Delhomme as an option and still don't.

The QB who was free that I did like and still wish we had signed was kerry Collins. It's not even that I am a big fan of his. I just think he was the best option we've had and we passed.

I was pretty squarely behind Warner over Vinny last year but I'd still have preferred Collins.

I wanted Tennessee to waive Steve McNair this year. I really like that guy. I was hoping they wanted to go with Volek. No such luck.
