Another ranking, we’re moving on up!

*Dak was 4th rounder.

The lack of free agent moves is disheartening. Maybe next year??

Garrett has a lot to prove. Well, change what he’s proved so far.

It read like an awful lot of hedging your bets to me.

"Maybe the Cowboys can make it back to the Super Bowl?"

"Maybe the Cowboys won't make the playoffs?"

Way to cover all your bases fellas!

Won't make the playoffs sounds very familiar.

What is this Super Bowl of which you speak? I seem to have a vague recollection of it.

Middle of the pack is where the Cowboys are. Whether they are ranked #12, #15, #18 or #20. It really doesn't matter.

They are a fringe playoff contender along with 6 or 7 other NFC teams battling for 2 open spots.

Making the playoffs can happen. But everything will have to go right, just like it did 2 years ago. If things start going wrong like last year they will end up in the same place or worse.

Have them one spot away from making the playoffs.

Not sure how they have 5 AFC teams in their Top 11.

this is dumb....if romo stayed healthy and didnt have a career ending injury its a different story....

after this year our cap situation is incredible and dak still has 1 more year on a rookie contract....additionally, signing Dlaw to the 1 year franchise deal was our big splash in FA....

Romo didn't have a career ending injury.

Jerry screwed him and left him in football limbo while holding out for compensation rather then out right release him

Then CBS came in and swooped him up

Yes he did, he said that was a big reason he retired was injury.

and if Jimmy Johnson were still coaching...and if we still had Irvin...imagine if we had Witten in his prime

Romo’s been gone for two years now and he’s not coming back.

Well...since he lost his job to dak bc of the injury which ultimately led to him retiring....i am confident we can call that the injury that led to his career ending....if he doesn't have the injury he's probably still playing

If CBS didn't hand him the analyst job he would still be playing

I personally find it pretty hard to believe that TR gave up football so he could get paid less to sit in a chair...

I would agree on this....i think that the injury was a back breaker for him figuritivly and literally....the fact that it lined up with a great offer to parle his talents into a sustainable long term career just made the decision that much easier....

but hey, were just speculating at this point as to what he would have done could he have started over dak.

Look, ladies, lets forget about the offense for a minute. Are they any worse than the 2016 crew? Dez/Witten were well beyond their prime and the 'boys still lit it up with TWill, Beasley, and Brice Butler. I still find that hard to believe. This group is not worse. What the Cowboys need is for the defense to step up. If this defense turns out to be pretty good, anything is possible. We're not outscoring our opponents this year and hiding our D all the way to the SB. It's not going to happen. We need the D to shut down opponents and get turnovers. I'll never forget the transition the Cowboys made from 1991 to 1992. Same offense, but the younger D got better and we got Smith, Woodson, and Jones. No more getting stomped 38-6 in the playoffs.

Romo didn't want to be a mercenary and uproot his family.

Anywho, stopped reading after the cap management part. The Cowboys went after Watkins, but I guess the deal wasn't as insane as the Chiefs paid him. They had/have the cap space to get players, but they want to be smart about how much money they dish out to a player. Last thing we need is an above average player getting paid like a great player.
