Ken Whisenhunt and the Cardinals brought QB Brian St. Pierre into camp to compete with Leinart for the No. 2 spot behind Kurt Warner.

St. Pierre was drafted by the Steelers in 2003 in the 6th round, is 29 years old, and has thrown only one pass in six years.

Reports are credible that the threat to Leinart's No. 2 spot is serious.

This is amazing, given that a year ago at this time, Leinart was the starter going into training camp. They say that his footwork is terrible and that he has a serious mental-toughness problem. He practice "MMA" style during this off-season, but all that's drawing is laughter and mocking from his peers.

I think that this guy is turning out to be more Ryan Leaf than not.

this warms the cockles of my heart.....yes, Vince Young may have his issues, but at least he isn't Matt Leinart.

I loved watching the Horns steal his thunder, cause I am a Horns fan, and I hate USC. Also, Leinart is a smug, front runnin, pretty boy. Even after UT went into USC's backyard, THE ROSE BOWL, and beat the Trojans, Leinart still refused to give em any credit. Instead, he whined like a spoiled rich kid who didn't get his monthly trust fund.....acting like he was still better.

Then Vince one-upped him again by winning the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Leinart is a joke, and the Cards would still be the Crudinals, had they given him the starting job. Thank goodness for them, they signed Kurt Warner. It speaks volumes to the suckage that is Leinart, that he can't learn professionalism, class, and work ethic from a potential HOFer like Warner.

I don't care if Leinart rots in the desert sun and the vultures pick at his festering carcass.

BTW, I feel the same disdain for that cheater and totally overhyped Reggie Bush.

From the neck down I think he is a decent QB. But from the neck up he isn't wired to be a NFL QB it appears.

I gotta' say that I agree with your Reggie Bush sentiment. I also agree with your USC, or for that matter the PAC 10 as a whole opinion. Got no use for that whole left coast football thing.

As we speak, I'm watching and waiting for the latest USC QB who went to the Jets to fall flat on his face too. I don't like that kid either............

well I mock the Pac 10 pretty hard...but they do play the hardest non-conference schedule of the BCS conferences. they also tend to win the majority of their bowl games.

i am a big 12 homer, cause i am a Horns fan....but the big 12 does play some weak schools in non-conference, and they tend to be about a .500 conference in bowl games.....and 1/2 of their dynamic duo has stunk it up as of late in Bowl games (OU).

I will say that I prefer Pac 10 to Big 11 football. I cant stand that boring crap they play up there in the Great Lakes region.

I actually feel bad for Leinart.

He's had a more difficult transition to the pros than I would've expected.
