...Ok I know this has been discussed many times, but watching the HOF ceremonies this weekend and seeing the old video of The Bullet has me thinking about our uniforms again.

If I were Jerry and I watched the HOF induction of The Bullet and saw those late 60's early '70s uniforms, (home and away) I would immediately (or as soon as practically possible) tell my people to change our uniforms to look exactly like they did back in that era. I was struck by how beautiful The Bullet looked in the home and away uniforms. The silver gray (almost a Confederate gray) pants and the crisp white home jerseys and the beautiful royal blue away jerseys are probably the best looking uniforms I have ever seen in pro sports. The silver helmet with the Star topped it off perfectly.

I would love it if we went back to those uniforms one day. Here is BrAinPaiNt's sig pic and another pic which show how beautiful those uniforms were...

Many people do not like the current throwbacks the cowboys have been using the last few years including the helmets...but I like them.

I love our current throwbacks! They are gorgeous....besides, who cares. I dont care what they wear, as long as theres football on, im happy!

And Jerry obviously chose that same navy that's on those for the new endzones.

I'm loving how many people support the old "jinxed" blue jerseys these days. Used to be that everyone hated them because, well, they were jinxed... But I always loved those. Just like in BB's sig.

Maybe some day only the old codgers will even remember the "jinx" and we can break them out again.

I like the current uniforms but they are off just a bit with the conflicting shades of blue and the aqua green tint in the pants. They are still great looking uniforms but imo, the late '60s, early '70s were perfect.

Tex messed up when he started fooling with the blue away jerseys back in the early '80s. That just gave credence to the idea of a stupid curse.

I really believe that era of uniforms had a lot to do with the Cowboys growing national popularity back in that time. I remember as a kid being taken with how striking the Cowboys uniforms were. They had a lot to do with me loving the team when I first started watching football.

lol, a "Confederate gray"...

yeah, Tex Schramm actually petitioned to allow Confederate flags on the jerseys and for our team to whistle Dixie before games as well but it wasn't put through in time before his death

The pants were metallic blue from 1964 to 1969. From 1970 to 73, they were the "Confederate gray" that you mentioned. They got considerably bluer in 1974, the year we switched to shiny, ironed-on uni numbers. 1977 was uni perfection for me, because the pants got progressively bluer in the years thereafter. Still better than green, though.

I started a thread on this a few weeks ago. I'm with you guys, why the green pants?

Why doesn't the blue of the numbers match the blue of the star?

I want the white stripes on the socks back.

How hard can that be?

the Cowboys have never worn a uniform i didn't like.

sure i have favorites but i like them all...even practice stuff.

Yeah, I'd like to see any of those 70's uniforms make a comeback.

The 1976 uniform (with red, white, blue helmet stripe) would be a nice "throwback."

I'd also be o.k. with Jerry introducing a new road jersey that is styled similarly to the early 70's road jersey - but in a dark silver/grey rather than dark blue.

Heck, only the old codgers can remember the jinx, now! Nary a youngster would know of it.
