Let's hope Parcells gets someone that knows how to design plays that take advantage of Bledsoe's strengths. Payton was somewhat successful with this and I was looking forward to them getting to the next level in their relationship. Damn!!

Why, so they could battle for 1 more year and figure out the best way to lose a lead by sitting on it? They would both be history next year anyways.

This year is nothing but a transition to post-Parcells.

Other than the 1st Commanders game, did this even happen? And how aggressive could you get with our OL? I would have preferred to have Sean back. If we made moves this offseason to improve our OL, Sean and BP would have been more aggressive. There's aggressive and then there's stupid.

I hear what you are saying... I just want the agressive in the way that... if there is a chance to put the game away... then do it!

The only real critique I had of Sean's playcalling was he basically ignored Witten in the red zone for the most part, especially early in the year.

But again for the most part it comes down to what you've got to work with. This wasn't Indy's offense here, you know? SP got a bad rap here and I wish him the best of luck in NO.

I think your Offensive Coordinator is already on the team.

I am more concerned with what is going on on the opposite side of the ball, as I didnt really think the Offense would change with or without Sean Payton.

I really liked what Payton brought to the table with regards to helping Quarterbacks though.

He may be on the team now, but he may be headed to NO with Payton, as well.

How do you feel about Mike Tice?

How about Mike Sherman?

Well, do those guys want to be head coaches or do they want to be coordinators?

Mike Tice would be okay but is he a Parcells Guy? I would love to see this guy offer some input and advice to our current offensive lineman.

I would definately approve of Mike Sherman. He knows how to handle veterans at QB and guy that will have a balanced attack.

Bledsoe just needed protection. When he had it, he was good, when he didn't he wasn't as good.

I don't know what Payton brought to the table as far as "developing" Bledsoe any more than he could have already been developed.

Even BP was asking DB what he felt comfortable with, so I don't know that Payton was as instrumental in anything DB did this year than we are being made to believe. I think he's good with the younger QB's though.

1st thing Parcells needs to do is get himself an Oline

Well, Kerry Collins credited Payton for helping him make a comeback during his years in New York and I really think he did a good job with Quincy Carter, actually made him look half-way decent in 2003.

And I never said he helped developed Drew Bledsoe.

Payton only had the title of Quarterback Coach (one of his roles) on his door for the 2003 and 2004 season, he was strictly OC (may have still had title of AC) in 2005.

Bledsoe does need someone to develop him. He needs some bodies to protect him. Payton leaving will cause Parcells head aches and more work unless he finds someone to replace Payton he trusts.

Otherwise it's the small ole offense. They need to runs the plays properly much more than be more innovative yada. I do think whoever calls plays next year needs to consider better play calling near the goal line. But that won't matter if the oline can't block or pass protect any better than the end of last year.

I know he was listed as the QB coach/assistant Head Coach for the '03 and '04 years, but didn't he have some input on the offensive gameplans as well? I'm pretty sure he did

You gotta read the context of what we are talking about before you respond:

Notice the portion I highlighted in Jimz31's post.....

So in effect, we got off subject and started debating whether Payton had any influence as a QB Coach. And also notice the words I had in parenthesis (one of his roles).
