I know there's people on here that know every reason why he won't be our pick or shouldn't be, but I get a gut feeling he's gonna be good.

I don't see him being a star immediately, but he could have more upside than even Clowney. Just started playing defense 2 years ago, and maybe switching from a 3-4 OLB to 4-3 DE. I can see him getting the hang of it in his 3rd year in the pros.

"There’s pros and cons to every team and everywhere you go, but if I were a Cowboy, that would be really a blessing, truly a dream come true – a team I watched growing up,” Barr said. “It would just be surreal. I would be really appreciative to be here.”

Pretty great quote.

Marinelli turned a former RB into a pro bowl lineman. Could he do it again?

This draft have more quality DT in the mid rounds. There are very few quality rush linebackers or defensive end. It may serve us better to pick up DE/rush linebacker in the first and find DT in the second and third.

Donald will NOT be there for us. I promise. How many years have we ever gotten a player that we all fell in love with? It rarely ever happens.

Plus I think Barr will slip into our laps.

I do think we will end up with 1 or the other.

This is the kind of thought process that makes Barr hard to evaluate. I feel like people over state his potential because he has only played 2 years on defense. I understand the line of thinking, but I also think its a trap. If he is there we definitely need to consider him, but i'm not sure I would take him over Donald.

I was all over Barr for a while, but I am definitely wary of getting Maybin.

The positive is that he has a great attitude and appears to be a good, coachable kid. There no doubt he's a risk though.

Considering the lack of pass rushers, and the fact that his greatest attribute is our biggest need, I am still inclined to take him at 16.

Correct. If we're going to replace Ware's edge pressure we're going to have to do it in the first two rounds of this draft.

Yes we can get some good DTs in the later rounds but ....oh I just don't know if any of these DEs are going to pan out. Not many of the standard 4-3 DEs impress me a great deal (first round at 16 impress) other than Clowney who will not be there...So we have to take a chance on some of these guys that are probably better suited as the 3-4 OLB pass rushers. But again I agree...The DE position is the one that will go the quickest and we have a better shot at getting good DTs later.

I think the sweet spot for defensive ends is going to be from picks 22-42. There are a lot of guys in that range that I think can come in and help the defensive line. Crichton, Attoachu, Murphy, Jeffcoat, Tuitt, Lawrence....
