But it goes deeper than that. His mother was a Cowboys fan, so he was a Cowboys fan. He knows all about the secondary from the re-signing of Morris Claiborne to Brandon Carr to the injury Orlando Scandrick suffered last year.

His mother had him watch all the games growing up.

"She'd been a Cowboys fan before I was born," Brown said. "When I was a baby, she has a picture of me in an Emmitt Smith shirt. So that's kind of cool too."

We seem to draft a ton of Cowboys fans. I wonder if this has any effect on their philosophy (drafting people who want to be here), or if it's merely coincidental due to being America's Team.

Pulling for this guy.. BTW, I remember before Von Miller was drafted. He would peak his head in the Cowboys booth often, but both he and the Cowboys knew that he would be drafted too high for the Cowboys.

After watching all of those "Secret phone calls" on DC.com, the one that had Jerry and Garrett smiling the most (day 2&3) was with Brown. What that means, I don't know, but it stood out to me. The phone call with Rico Gathers sounded like he wasn't overly excited about coming to Dallas.

I think has more to do with proximity most of all. While there are Cowboys fans all over the place, drafting players closer to Texas tends to increase the odds those players will be longtime Cowboys fans.
