At this point its pretty obvious our coaching staff is the most conservative in the league when it comes to preseason and injuries. At this point its not a matter of IF we are going to be rusty against the Giants, its a matter of HOW rusty we will be. If we can survive the first 2 quarters and get into the later stages of the game close or tied, I like our chances.

Week 1 isn't going to be pretty.

Not playing this week means we won't see him till week 1. I can live with that.

Garrett can't be upset about the level of play when they have made it clear they are only concerned about injuries.

They have been ultra-conservative and the deep backups aren't that good.

I just don't think they will be able to turn it on.

I do like Belichick's views on the game. Everyone plays, the games are 60 minutes and the individual and team results matter.

Week 1 in the NFL is almost always ugly.

The Cowboys may be rusty, but look how many players the Giants have lost so far. Having some rustiness is better than having some crutches.

Great post, but some fans are not worried as you can just plug and play and never skip a beat! One said today that we have seen enough of Byron Jones! What??$&#!

Not too long ago the LB group looked like a position of strength and depth. Now a bunch of question marks. Can Lee stay healthy? McClain??? Can Wilber even play LB? Can Brinkley even play or should he be cut? Gachkar to start? Can rookie Wilson be ready by game 1? And now Hitchens is a ?

Who will be the starting LBs? Lee, Gachkar, and Wilson? Or Wilber, Lee and Wilson?

And to think many complained when the Cowboys drafted a LB in the 4th round this year.

They have been careful with injuries and I have no problem with that
But they have worked hard with who ever was available and that's what's important to me

You act like every other 31 teams have zero injuries. Every team will be dealing with the same issues. Most teams don't play their starters a ton in the preseason. Week 1 and 4 is usually zero. Week 3 about 2.5-3 quarters. Week 2 a few series. So every team will be having their teams coming into play playing less than a game of football (and not even full speed at that) dating back the last 9 months.

I think we all need to be ready for another cruddy start to the season just like last year with the 49ers...

Hey this dose of reality doesn't fit with the doom and gloom of OMG preseason. Get on the unhype train.

I think we all need to be ready for another cruddy start to the season just like last year with the 49ers...

That was almost exclusively the fallout from one guy's lack of preparation due to injury and some Greek God who started off the season with a fumble that was walked into the end zone. The rest of the team looked ready to go.

I agree, but I think the later the game goes on the more fatigue will set in and mistakes will happen

Given his ability to play through injury last year I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
