Any shot this guy would be there at 50?

My thinking is he is tough, has GREAT hands, and from everything I've read he has a work ethic similar to Michael Irvin. Now don't get your skivvies in a bunch, I did not say he was Michael Irvin. However, he runs the forty in 4.52, which is what both Irvin and Dez ran the forty in.

I know it appears he will be there in perhaps the third. This is not Dez replacement. But he could supplant Williams on the outside, in hopes Jerry finds a quality WR in FA next year.

http://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/college/Memphis_logo.gif Anthony Miller, WR, Memphis
Height: 5-11. Weight: 201. Arm: 31.63. Hand: 10.
Projected 40 Time: 4.52.
Projected Round (2018): 2-3.
4/7/18: Miller played really well for Memphis, showing good route-running, quickness, good hands, and elusiveness after the catch. He had 92 receptions for 1,462 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2017. Miller came up huge to help Memphis upset UCLA and created some positive buzz for himself in the scouting community. Miller is viewed as more of a second-day talent who could be a weapon as a slot receiver in the NFL. Miller did not run at the combine.

7/17/17: Miller is smaller receiver, but he was massively productive for Memphis in 2016 as the No. 1 receiver for quarterback Riley Ferguson. Miller totaled 95 receptions for 1,434 yards with 14 touchdowns on the year. The previous season, he hauled in 47 passes for 694 yards and five touchdowns. Miller and Ferguson should be poised for another big season in 2017.

Yes. There is a shot he's there.

Aside from Ridley, we have a large pack including Moore, Sutton, Kirk, Miller, Chark , Washington, Gallup (and maybe a couple that I left out like St Brown or Pettis) that could go anywhere from the late 1st to mid 3rd depending on preferences of the teams drafting.
Moore is the only one that almost certainly won't be there at 50.
After that, anything goes.

Although Cowboys tend to favor tall big WRs, this fits our offense to T IMO. Probably the best route runner and notice size 10 hands. That's big for player his size. In fact, that's min cut-off they for in QBs. If he's there at 50, I'm running the card up and not look back. Yes, I would him over Ridley and Moore.......

Just read nugget earlier today on the one strength of the two most productive WRs from last year's class......route running. So this kid has a chance to come in contribute.

if we like Antonio Brown then we will like Miller at 50 and be happy. That's very high praise and the film tells it all. His feet placement, hand placement...and routes are top notch,ELITE. His football speed is solid and most of all, knows how to catch the ball and get open. DJ Moore is great..but not quit as elite. Not sold on Ridley at 19 at all..or Sutton. Sutton would be my pick if I was forced to choose between he and Ridley at 50. I know they wont last that long.

If Miller is there at 50, I'm running that card up fast.

I have read up on Ridley. He is 189 lbs and tends to allow corners to press him. The WalterFootball weakness on this player suggests he won't be able to put on much weight (how do they know? And that is what I took from their comments)

I just see this Miller kid as a precise route runner and an over achiever. Plus, if you look ast his highlight video, he is taking a pass down the sidelines and is nearing the goalline. A safety or corner has an angle and he drops a shoulder and engages the contact, which kept him in bounds and on his feet. he scored on that play. Plus he seems to catch the ball regardless of arm bars or interference.

I am talking myself into this player. I'm certain you can see this.

good analogy and correct. Miller may have the best route running ability in the draft.

I like Miller.

I don’t think we’re replacing Dez at all. If we’re adding a WR, it’ll just be to add another quality option at the position as we spread the ball around more. Probably a guy who can attack downfield, though.

Agreed.

That hits on a misnomer I think alot in the Dez hate crowd don't understand; they're critical of Dez's production but the reality is this offensive attack isn't going to produce a 1,300-1,500+ yard reciever.

I think the FO and coaching staff has a very specific vision of what they want this offense to be, that being a run-heavy attack that picks away teams on short/intermediate passes, spreading the ball around and taking an occasional shot downfield.

I like his game, but I am worried he won't be able to get separation in the NFL. I don't get the Brown comparisons. They may be similar size, but Brown is not just an incredible route runner and great hands, he's also a burner which this guy isn't.

I wouldn't mind taking him in the third, but I'm not sure he's better than what we have atm .

I think that’s exactly right. And we’ll try to add another burner to compete with Thompson and so we’ll have an option if one goes down so we don’t have to change up what we want to do. Two slot guys, two possession guys, two speed receivers. And then whatever goes down with Noah Brown in camp. Beef up the line, and move Dak around a little more. Keep the multiple TEs who both block and catch and play the heavy run and screen game with the backs.

I think we add a speedy change of pace RB who can catch in the 4th round or so, too.

DJ Moore are very similar so if you could get Miller a whole round or maybe longer wouldn’t that be considered a steal?

Trade back round 1 get your OG and an extra 3rd, get a guy like Bates at 50, now you have 2 3’s which is very inexpensive to move up in you can go get Miller or ESB, and get Fred Warner.

I think Miller will be the best receiver in this draft class. If his foot is alright, that is...

I wouldn't discount him completely cause of size. We took Lewis last year despite his size. One factor was his long arms. Perhaps big hands is a measureable this team values in a receiver more than height.

Dane Brugler seems to like him.
Has him as his 3rd best WR behind Ridley and Moore.

Matt Miller likes him okay, but much less than Brugler.
He has Miller as his 10 best

Miller is a baller, as for "value" I like him more than anyone else. Also him being a walk on is a story I like a lot.

He didn't get 4 months of practicing 40 form so I'm not worried about his timed speed that much. Hes plenty fast in game to take shots downfield, especially if he sells his route, which is incredibly underrated imo. The foot inside and convincing the DB to commit a misstep is usually what makes or breaks it.

Just for the record, there's one ABrown to me but AB ran like a 4.56.

It's very interesting to hear the Ridley is too old arguments, and people advocating for Anthony Miller when Miller is two months older than Ridley.
