He finally broke the double digit sack barrier today. 10 sacks in addition to his overall strong run defense and decent pass coverage. I think he gets franchised again. His contract demands are going to sky high.

I'd say he's been our best defender lately. It's not really close, either.

No denying it. Now how do they pay him and can he keep it up.

i'm hoping some way we can afford to keep him. i was always a fan of keeping him just not for the high $$ but now that is inevitably how we'd have to keep him.

but if he can keep up whatever it is he found this year we will officially have a fabulous OLB tandem

Spencer has proven, once and for all, that he's a damn good player for us that deserves a long term deal.

I'm not saying break the bank, by any means, but I definately want him back.

Just imagine how p'd off we would be if we let him walk and he was having this type of year?!

Now, if they could just draft a playmaker to play opposite him!

I kid, I kid.
Spencer has had a monster season.

Gotta change his name from almost anthony to clutch sack anthony! The guy is playing like a beast!

Anthony is tuned in. Can he stay that way after contract?

It's uncanny how he gets the majority of his sacks late in the 4th quarter.

Yep. But, i'm afraid Jerry will now break the bank and overspend to keep him. He'll be 29 next month. Age 30 is about where most pass rushers start declining in play and athleticism. I hop we retain him, but not with a huge price tag.

........can we franchise him again? If so, I say do it.

Well Spencer has really played well, and as a Spencer hater he has really shown up this year.....hopefully not to just get a check...ok had to say it.

Anyway great game by Spencer, hopefully it will continue as he isn't going anywhere unless we want him to with our ability to use the tag.

....I've called him 'almost anthony' for years: ONE good year doesn't mean I want to sign him long term: Jerrah will though: you just know it....

Yes, but it has to be at 120% of his 2012 salary, which would be close to 11 million. Tough call.

ryan has found something lining up spencer in the middle.

Possibly trade Ware and re sign Spencer? Ware as great as he has been no longer has what he once had and the team might be able to get a second/ third for him then use his money to fill some holes on the team that are problematic. Plan ahead and don't wait one year to long.
