Anthony Spencer play by play.

· Run up the middle, Ahmard Hall attempted to block him coming off the edge, but was unable to. However, he was still unable to get involved on a dive play up the middle.
· Pass play, Spencer was blocked by just OT.
· Anthony Spencer blocked by OT, with help from OG, on a 4 man pass rush.
· Anthony Spencer dropped back into coverage. Made a good play to tackle Chris Johnson in the open field on a swing pass with the help of Marcus Spears.
· Running play away from Anthony Spencer.
· Bo Scaife chipped Spencer as he went out for a pass, and then OT picked him up. Did not get a pass rush.
· Lendale white off backside guard, Spencer not involved in play away from him.
· Algie Crumpler tried to block him on a dive up the middle. He slows him down, but Spencer is able to get into the middle of the tackle, although not the first guy to wrap up Lendale White on a 2 yard gain.
· Cowboys blitz, Spencer easily beats OT, and forces Collins to just throw the ball away.
· Run to Lendale White up the middle, Spencer is not involved in the play, and appears to be thinking pass rush on the play.
· Anthony Spencer plays coverage on Alge Crumpler, also gets help at the end by Bradie James. Pass is thrown to Nate Washington.
· Running play outside away from Spencer
· 5 step drop by Collins, Collins throws on time but slightly hurried by Stephen Bowen. However, Spencer did get his guy the OT off balance, and would have had him beat inside. Pass falls incomplete.
· Spencer drops back into coverage on Alge Crumpler. Crumpler does not appear to try running much of a route.
· Spencer double teamed by OG and OT, somewhat splits double team, but Collins has already stepped up in the pocket.
· Spencer rushes outside, Collins throws quick swing pass to RB.
· Spencer is not blocked and almost got involved in tackle, but Ratliff was tackled by OL, and caused Spencer to jump the pile and slowed him down. Was close to chasing the play down from behind.
· Spencer is blocked one on one by Alge Crumpler on TD pass to Justin Gage.
· Spencer rushes passer, but does not get much pressure blocked by OT then by OG.

Not a whole lot that surprised me. Will have play by plays from Free, McQuisten, and Savii probably tomorrow sometimes.

I watched Spencer also but your analysis is much better than mine. I thought he played an average game. Not much to get excited over but no serious errors either.

Honestly, in this game he did more than Ware did.

If he's healthy, he can play.

Anthony Spencer will drop a fair bit into coverage this season.

And it only takes watching Spencer do it once to see what a monumental upgrade over Greg Ellis he is on pass defense.

We can't just judge him on sacks, he'll be asked to do more than that.

As I expected while watching the game in real time. None of our Lbs did much because we were in base the majority of the time. When we start game planning and bringing pressure from multiple spots based on tendencies Spencer will be a beast.

Are you doing these? Or is it from somewhere else?

I am doing these. I have DVR and am able to go back over a play multiple times to see what happened. Not just what appeared to happen at first glance.
