Anthony Spencer Vs Manny Lawson?

I remember last year i wanted M. Lawson over B. Carpenter...which got me to thinkin..which one would I prefer out of M. Lawson and A. Spencer and this was a hard one..so I figured why not bring it to my Cowboys brothers for debate...so who you got Lawson or Spencer...I'll hold my answer for now just to see what other might say....lets go!!!!

For the record I already know how this is gonna go...but you can answer spencer or lawson without going into detail...or you can give a reason why you like one over the other...

I think Kamerion Wimbley and Spencer is a better comparison.

I also think Jarvis Moss to Manny Lawson is a better comparison.

not hating on spencer because i think hes going to be a huge force for us.. but if i had to pick between spencer and wimbley i think its pretty obvious who every 1 would want.. wimbley is a proven commodity... had 11 sacks last year on loser cleveland... but i still think spencer can have a great rookie year and maybe even have more than 11 sacks but still Wimbley is proven and a monster

Oh yeah I tottally agree.

Spencer could be better but a smart person would take Wimbley everytime because he has shown he can have a 10+ sack season.

Thats a given.

I just like the Wimbley comparison better than Lawson.

OK--I say Spencer because that is who I am now pulling for.......but, I wanted Lawson last year and still believe we should of taken him.....but, Carp did come on and I feel good about him today.

A better method would be comparing guys that play on the strong-side. Lawson is a very poor man's Ware at this point-- he's a "bean-pole" that's not strong enough to play over the tight-end.

Spencer doesn't have blazing speed but he seems to have a good combination of speed and strength that makes him best suited for the strong-side.

Funny thing last year when Hos and I were talking about these two before the draft.

We liked Lawson's upside more but figured Carpenter would be a more all around LB and probably be ready to play sooner.

oh well...neither really had stellar rookie campaigns. Not to say they can not turn that around or be valuable members to their teams, just not very inspiring rookie campaigns except short glimpses of what could be.

I like Spencer better than Lawson for the same reasons Winicki does...his size. I liked Lawson coming out last year as well, but I always thought he would be better as a situational passrusher in a 4-3.

I really like spencers size and strength , I read somewhere be benched 500 pounds at the combine or something? that is alot if anyones ever attempted to bench anything over 300 . Something youd expect a 6'5+ 310 o-lineman to do. Wimbley is proven though so just based on that him. Hopefully Spencer = Merrimen 2.0 w/o the juice. Not sure but i dont think lawsons that strong
