For a while I have seen some around here saying how we should have kept Wright and how he is a good QB? Are you people kidding? this guy looks as bad now with the ravens as he did in Dallas and is making the same bonehead throws in Baltimore as he did in Dallas.

You know my opinion is that anybody who makes it into the NFL is pretty amazing, I have drawn that from the Pittdawg posts, it takes someone from the other side of the fence to show you how truly hard it is just to make a roster. No he's not lighting it up this week but man think how many other folks he beat out just to get a game check. I do think he was a real prospect, he had a good arm, etc. Hey they have their ups and downs look at Carr and Peyton Manning didn't exactly look hall of fame yesterday. The real thing about the NFL that amazes me is that even after they change all the rules to favor the offense, the Defense still adapts and by week two makes guys like Manning look like he's playing his first game. Sorry if this is a different opinion...

In terms of NFL talent Wright is sorely lacking he looked like **** here in Dallas and he looks no better today. I will agree any person who can make it in the NFL has some talent or you would not be there but in comparision with his peers he lacks a lot. Wright by no means is a rookie, he has been in the league for 7 years but you can't tell that by his poor play

And yet he is still better than Kyle Boller. :D

Which does not bode well for the Ravens. I agree Boller has not done much at all but that does not change the fact that Wright continues to look like a rookie QB after 7 years in the league

I agree. Things don't look too good in Baltimore. Neither QB looks capable of leading that offense. The Ravens struggle in pass protection and really haven't produced a go to receiver along with the inadaquate QB play. Not a good recipe. Perhaps they need to sign Vinny. Then they would have a guy that looks like a rookie after being in the league for 18 years. :)

Vinny could outplay either one of those guys.

Ya know what, this Anthony Wright stuff is petty. Bringing up Wright is nothing more than bringing up those ol' QB arguments about who was better. Sticking Wright's name in there is just another attempt to take one last shot at the folks who hated on your QB. We all lost! If you backed Quincy, Hutch, Wright, Leaf, Stoerner, Cunningham, Testaverde, Aikman in his last years.... hell, maybe even the Henson backers what with him losing his spot in the depth charts in his second year. We should all stand behind Bledsoe because he is the last QB since Aikman in his prime to come out and throw 3 touchdowns in the season opener. Here's hoping Bledsoe revives his career in Dallas and we finally draft our next home grown replacement next year. :lombardi:

No agenda here this has nothing to do with these other QB's who have failed in Dallas. I just never could figure out why some insist that Wright was a good QB and Dallas messed up by letting him go. Wright needed to go just as these other failures needed to go.

I think Wright's a decent backup. Nothing more, nothing less.

People liked Wright because when he was in Dallas he was better than the guys we had at the time. He didn't have the upside of Carter and Hutch, but he was better then and I guess he's still better.

He's an ok bus driver. He won't win games for you but if you can limit his mistakes then he does ok. We may think he sucks but he's been in the league for 7 years. That's an accomplishment right there. Wright seems to be a smart player who doesn't have the tools to be impressive.

As far as backups go, the guy is pretty solid. He can give you some effective snaps -- long term teams start scouting him and he gets less effective.

Anthony Wright is a good 2nd to 3rd string QB

He made some nice throws here in Dallas

If you give the guy a strong running game and make him throw a maximum of 20 passes he'll be all right.

Well a poor Tenn team did that in a weeks time.

He has Jamal Lewis. I'd say that's pretty strong. It looked to me like their oline wasn't even slowing guys down.

I agree with Dale. Wright is not a starter and, IMO, never was. The issue with Wright is how the club handled him. That wasn't right any way you slice it. I don't think anybody was ever dreaming about Wright being the next franchise. I think people take issue with the fact that Wright was handled poorly by the club, IMO, and nobody cared. Something happens to other QBs that reflect a somewhat like situation and people are all over it. It is the duality of the whole thing that makes people shake there heads.

I can't see why people say Henson's a good quarterback and he can't even sniff the field. Henson needs to go, just like the other failures have.

"But he's a rookie (sniff, sniff)." Doesn't matter. He sucks and that's it. Henson couldn't even carry around Wright's jock strap.

I think people here just want the kid to fail to justify our own mishandling of him.

Heck, imagine if he lit it up and became a solid NFL QB ??? It would just go to prove our own ineptness. BUT, if he failed, then we were certainly right in letting him go.

But if you ask me, I could care less.

Ok, you knew Wright was garbage. And others thought he had some potential.

Did you know the same about Hutch, carter and all the other failed qb's to come through Dallas during the last 5 plus seasons?

If so, they should just hire you to be the QB scout. Or can you also prognosticate other positions equally as well?
