Morrison III made headlines for his rapid, incredible recovery from a devastating knee injury, but his play on the field is even more impressive. At 6'1" 229 lbs, Morrison may be considered a little undersized by some to play in the middle, but his instincts make up for his lack of stature. He has sideline to sideline range and terrific coverage ability. He is explosive, violent and relentless when hit hits. He generally maintains great form, to break down/wrap up and rarely misses a tackle. He deduces plays very quickly and will often beat blockers to the hole. He is a tremendous blitzer and spends as much time in the backfield as many defensive line players, as highlighted by his 11 TFL in 2015. He has experience playing that seek and destroy zone LB role that Dallas uses with Lee and McClain. Morrison has played over the slot, in the middle and at time in deep coverage zones.
I really like this kid. I think he would be a tremendous player for this team and, while not being scheme specific, would fit what Marinelli does perfectly.
