News! Antwaun Woods has signed his ERFA tender, so he's officially back with the Cowboys. Lot of people have been wondering about that, including me. It's unusual to see an ERFA sit unsigned for so long, but he's back in the fold." / Twitter

    Exclusive Rights Free Agents (ERFAs)

ERFAs have two choices, either play for the league minimum on a one year contract or not play. They do not have any negotiating leverage, and as such will almost always play on a minimum salary contract.

You sure you got that right? IRFA, does not exist.

    ERFA
    Exclusive Rights Free Agent

Meaning he plays for what the team offers within the CBA. No negotiating.

Good news. I hope he comes in with the right attitude, to compete as hard as he can for a role on this team and not sulk because the team brought in two free agents.

People around the team at USC loved him when he was there, he should come in a good attitude and be a excellent backup.

Would not be surprised at all if he beat out Poe for pass rush downs.

I think the pass rusher rotating in would be Tyrone Crawford and possibly Trysten Hill, but I don't want to sidetrack the thread.

Another one of Jerry Dumbo GM Jones unreliable or unavailable defensive players on the cheap.

Unreliable and Unavailable but cheap...see Gregory, Irving, Smith, Lee, Vander Esch, etc.

Woods was a slam dunk pick up for his price.

    This post is silly.

Also, Gregory, LVE, and Jaylon were not remotely cheap. The players you grouped together makes no sense.

    Armstrong-Gallimore-Woods-Aldon

    Anae-Hill

Not bad. But I’d feel a lot better if we had Gregory or signed Clowney or Griffin.

I think he fits in perfectly as a depth rotation guy. This line just might actually be solid or even above average this year.

Wait a minute...Gregory is very reliable and available......I'm betting you could guess what he is doing most times of the day(reliable) and that he would be available to do it at a moments notice.

Woods (6-1/318) being a starting 1Tech showed the last 2 years just how little regard the previous defensive staff had for the position. Hard-working and great attitude, but not an NFL-caliber starting DT.

He's ideal in what will be asked of him now.

    Available 1Tech snaps should be something like Poe (6-3/346) 35%, Woods 25%, 2nd pass-rushing 3Tech (40%).

That 2nd pass rushing DT when you slide Tank or Crawford inside, could be McCoy (6-4/300), Gallimore (6-2/302), and even..gasp..Trysten Hill (6-3/308)

Preferably, I'd like another 330-plus pound roadblock to back up Poe, but I think Woods can give you quality snaps in a lesser role. D Lines are about rotations.
