There were two big stories about this game, one is that Dallas finally made plays on both offense and defense. Everyone got that in real time.

The other big story was that our defense shut down the running game, to a shocking degree considering they were facing Todd Gurley. A lot of that is because Antwuan Woods finally returned to clog up the middle at 1T.

Look at the last four games -

Woods out:

Patriots 121 yards rushing, average of 3.7
Bills 124 yards rushing, average of 3.6
Bears 151 yards rushing, average of 4.4

Woods returns:

Rams 22 yards rushing, average of 1.6

Give it up for the Big Fella.

woods was making up for his little marijuana gaffe. he played an outstanding game.

Rams rushing attack was about 21st in the league if I’m remembering correctly

not exactly up their usual snuff....

woods is a welcomed return but it shows if we have someone half way mediocre he helps the overall defense... imagine a “good” or “great” run plugger to help clog up the lanes and keep the LBs sight clean

Agree for the most part

antuan woods is a solid player. I like him. But imagine him being part of the rotation and having a dominant run plugger ahead of him? That’s what we need.

I'm in the mindset that its 80% that the new HC is a guy like Urban Meyer and 20% its Belichick or Payton. But thinking about who the next DC is for 2020 is going to be really interesting.

Woods had a great game as did the whole defense.

Bennett was a beast.

Tank was throwing bodies around everywhere.

Great to see.

Like who? There are maybe only 5-6 players that fit what you're describing.

I believe it was scheme. We didn't use a defensive scheme where we depended on a lot of penetration by our DL and tried to be disruptive. Instead, we played much more gap control/integrity assignments and that allowed our LBs to run cleaner and chase, which is what we really do very well. We didn't hurt ourselves nearly as much although, Bennett needs to get his arse on the right side of the LOS.

Hope he can play well against the Iggles. Sanders and Wentz, along with the TE’s are their entire offense. We need to get off to a fast start like we did yesterday and when we played the Eagles.

Yeah but if you really wanna show the man some luv deliver his bud to his doorstep next time.. We can’t have him driving around with all that doobage....

Woods is the key to stopping the run. Every game he has missed, the team's run defense was awful. The Green Bay game comes to mind, how valuable Woods truly is to our defense. He was out that game and they ran all over us!
