Obviously we all hope to land a stud DE in April, but the board may not dictate that. If we can't, I think Hodges should be considered. He's a freak athlete and instant mismatch for defenses. Escobar isn't the post-Witten answer and quite frankly, although I love him, Witten isn't the same guy. He's no longer a difference maker. Imagine trying to stop an offense with Dez, Bucky, Zeke, and Dak, who can run. No, for real. Take 30 seconds and imagine it. You with me yet? Also, remember half of the Cowboys war room wanted Tyler Eifert when he came out - and Bucky fits that mold.

Eric Ebron was a freak athlete and instant mismatch too. I know Witten cant play forever but as long as Linehan is here they are going mostly 11 package. Honestly if they were going to draft offense that early I'd like another WR.

I don't really see Ebron as a comp. I see more Jimmy Graham, personally. Not as fast as Ebron, but longer and a better blocker. They do both have some drops here and there, however.

I'm sure they'd work in some 2x TE sets to get Bucky involved, and just don't see Witten being a quality starter much longer, sadly. That said, it's a very deep TE draft and would should be able to get a likely eventual starter on day 2.

I wouldn't mind a WR myself. I just don't think we'll get a shot at Williams and don't like anyone else enough to use a 1st on them. There are a few 2nd round guys I like, however.

I think the most slept-on Alabama prospect coming out is O.J. Howard. Great athlete and very good blocker.

Yeah, hard not to like Howard. Comes from a high profile program and stepped up huge under the bright lights of the natonal championship game last year.

Kiffin doesn't utilize the TE. Howard is one of those prospects that will definitely make a better pro than prospect.

I like Hodges very much and if we didn't have TEs already I could live with it. He has some aggression and energy to his game that Escobar, Bennett, and Fasano never had. He's not a lumbering runner either.

But I'd rather just save myself the heartache and wait until Witten retires. There will be TEs available in that draft too.

Hodges is a WR in the NFL. Not big and strong enough to play tight end at this level. Would be a perfect big slot receiver though.
