Im considering some contract work in Alberta for a few months, maybe longer. I have directtv and the nfl ticket and am addicted. Im trying to find ways to not miss a live Cowboy game if I go there. Directtv doesnt go there.
Yahoo's streaming live nfl games doesnt work in Canada. I suppose I can bittorrent games but sometimes those things arent up for two days.
Going to a bar is an option I guess but not a preference. My ideal preference is to have my pick of any games possible (ensuring all Cowboy games and a few more), live, not at a bar. I have a feeling that may be asking too much.

Does anyone post here who may have insight on such matters?

thanks

All the cable companies in Canada offer the NFL Sunday Ticket and as Canadian BoyzFan mentioned it's cheaper than in the U.S.. Plus we get the FOX, CBS, NBC and ESPN broadcasts as well.

You won't miss a thing.

Cool, good to hear because in my googling it I only found things that were talking about possible restrictions on american nfl broadcasts in Canada. Maybe that was just some politicians ideas of something he wants to do or maybe they were talking about the Bills playing in Toronto. I must have read too fast.

Through my cable company (Roger's Cable) they have a package where I get the NFL Sunday ticket/NHL Centre Ice and the baseball for $29.95 a month. It's quite sweet.

I've never been to Alberta but can tell you three things:
1) In the winter it's ******** cold.
2) No taxes
3) Very scenic with the mountains

Yeah..that too. Booming economy, I heard they are paying coffee shop workers close to $20.00/hour. The job market was very hot there.

Don't worry we get all the games. On regular cable you will automactially get two feeds (a west coast city and east coast city) of each US netowrk (Fox, cbs, nbc) and our networks will also carry feeds of these networks as well. So for example I get whatever games Seattle and Detroit get, plus whatever games our own networks pick up, usually the Bills and whatever the national games are.

Plus you will get the ESPN game on our sports channel TSN. We get the NFL network as well, their game's are also broadcasted on one of our sports channels in HD.

And as said above you can get the NFL package as well which shows all the other games that regular cable does not. I get this every year but may only need it for 2 Cowboy games a year as all the rest are on regular cable.

Good luck in Alberta, the weather may not be nice but I'm sure you will be making a tonne of $$$ up there.

I don't have NFL Sunday Ticket, and I get EVERY Cowboys game in Toronto with my satellite provider.

When you move here, you will never move back to US, people here are actually smart, and realize they live on a planet, not a country.

Oh, and Cali-Surfer-Boy, Shut it.

Was just playing around with the way the thread was titled. I have no issue with Canada or Canadians.

I'm from Montana, so I've been to Alberta a few times. You're right on #3. Calgary and Edmonton are beautiful cities. Went to Calgary in '88 for the Olympics. Had a great time.

Another question to our fans in Canada. Aren't the "black boxes" or "pirated smart cards" that can decode all satellite transmissions legal in Canada? A Canadian I was conversing with on-line told me that.
