Thats the low pressure switch turning off the A/C system so it doesnt burn up the compressor.

Different situation.

That doesn't make sense. The electric cooling fan cools the engine. I can understand the A/C system shutting down, but not the fan that cools the engine. That cooling fan is required whether the A/C is turned on or off.

An electric cooling fan typically has 4 settings: off, low, high, A/C command high.

The first 3 will vary depending on temperature. Its common for it to vary between all 3 even when using the vehicle normally when driving.

The 4th one, when you turn the A/C on, the fan is commanded into high mode full time. As long as the a/c is on, it will not go into low or off mode in order to pull air across the condenser.

If charging your A/C fixed the issue, then the low pressure switch on the HVAC system was not properly commanding the fan because it wasnt turning the a/c on in order to save the air compressor.

Give it a redbull at lunch.

just kidding.

Like others have said, you need to go have the electrics looked at. Could be a wire or multitude of wires have went bad.

I had an oddball situation where sometimes my blinkers would work, other times they would not. Just random. Same with my fog lights.

Had that problem for 2-3 years and would hold my breath when I went to get a yearly inspection and just hoped my Blinkers, and/or hazard, lights would work.

Had another issue that I had to get the car worked on so had them fix that as well since I had the money at the time. Some of the wires went bad an apparently to the point that the plasitc was completely melted off. Guy said it was lucky I did not have a fire.

No problems since.
