Any chance of higher than the 4th seed?

LMAO, how the times have changed. A few weeks back, we were the 12th seed. I'll take that 4th seed and not look back. The only difference in the 3rd or 4th is who we play on the WC weekend and should the heavens open up and we actually win, we'd probably get the Rams in the division round. Rather play in LA than NO.

Annnndddddd, we have to beat PHL first to even keep this playoff seeding conversation going. I am just glad we can entertain January football, even if it's just for now.

We will have to win three playoff games, two on the road to make it to the big dance. But hey, who thought we'd even be having this discussion four weeks ago? And as the great Parcels used to say, just get in, it's a whole new season once you're in the tournament.

And normally I dismiss that as it's a brand new day; however, the Cowboys would have the best D in the NFC and maybe even a charged up Irving to unleash. I seem to remember another team getting their D healthy at the right time and doing just what you're talking about.

Now that I think about it, would it not be best, if we remained the 4th seed?

We get a home game, probably against Minnesota the way it is going as the 4th seed.
If we get the 3rd seed, we may get Carolina or Seattle. I know some will say, bring them on, get revenge. I don't want to play them the 1st game.

Let one of them go to Chicago.

Because if we win our first playoff game at #4, we would go to LA, at #3 we would go to N.O.
Let Chicago go play them and beat up on them, heck who knows, they my win.

I rather play at LA in the open air before going to N.O. to face them again. And maybe, one of the WC teams or Chicago can take out N.O.
Only thing is we are on the road if we get to the NFCCG unless one of the WC teams are in it.

Just a thought. Way too far off anyway. We need to make it to the playoffs first.

Just to clear my mind... Why do the Bears have the tiebreak on Dallas?
We don't play head to head and we we would have the same conference record and we would be tie in common opponents. So its one of the ones after that and im not trying ti figure that out. Lol it was played out in the playoff machine so I have now clue. But I had them winning vs the giant's and both games vs loins so if the were to lose them it would change. But if they were to lose one of them we would end up with a better record unless the best one of the teams like the rams, gb or the vikes that i had them losing too which is highly possible. I'll play a few scenarios out. It also will depend on if it was a 3 way tie. I played it out a few ways and never could get us above them in ties but I'll try again. Lol

We need Chicago to lose

Giants arent giving us any help on that front though

Did again and if we can tie then with just us 2 and one id then losses are to the giants or lion's then we get the tie breaker. When I played it out every time I tried to get the most likely scenario of games they would lose. Giants and lions weren't any of the likely scenarios for me lol. But you never know.

I absolutely think there’s a chance and IMOF I think it will happen because I expect us to win the rest of our games or lose one, max. Those other teams have harder schedules. Bears and Vikings will lose a couple and Carolina is going downhill, I could see them losing 3.

Hopefully we get Carolina in the playoffs, almost an automatic win with the way they’ve been playing. Not too worried about the Bears or Vikings but definitely wouldn’t want to face the Saints again.

Good thread, nice to see someone finally summarize this in a way that makes sense.

The Saints could absolutely lose three of their next four. It's possible but not probable. Tampa is beating Carolina and the Giants look good against the Bears.

Things will be clearer on Tuesday morning but things look good for us.

Well we got at least 2 good results today. Though Bears actually needed to lose 3, but look like they are about to lose the Giants, so 2 now lol. Pats beat Vikings and that will mean that only the Saints and Bears are relevant to us moving up, technically Rams too, but not very realistic.

Well, Chicago lost... I called it before the game started. Now they have a very tough schedule.
