ANY chance of picking up a CB soon?

Yeah, I know TNew should be OK, but even if he is we need a fourth corner. I'm sick of the Jacque Reeves show. I know that we missed out on Dante Wesley, who else could be a possibility? This is getting to be nerve wracking. Obviously the rookies and FA's on the squad aren't the answer either.

I'd say its a good bet we'll see one or two new CB's on the roster before the season opener

No, he's 29. But that's close to 30 and Henry is 31 and Glenn 35. We must spend 2 of our 4 first day draft picks on CB.

Good corners are a precious commodity in the NFL. I doubt we're going to find any available in a trade or otherwise.

I wonder if Stanback can play corner?

If he can learn how to play WR, maybe he should give it a try?

Many of us begged this team to draft a corner.

Obviously, Stanback, OT, Kicker, and FB where higher priorities.

FYI: 'Many' doesn't necessary equal 'eduncan'

If those positions were not displayed on the tv screen in front of Rich Eisen, they must have been.

OT was definitely higher priority cause w/o a good OL we aren't going anywhere & I loved the Free pick in the 4th round (would have gone earlier except for foot injury in senior season). If he continues to develop & participation in next year's offseason weight conditioning program adds necessary strength, he'll replace Adams in 08 unless we franchise Adams in
08. Marten needs more work & if he can't beat out Colombo in 08 might be moved to OG to challenge Kosier leaving McQuistan to challenge Colombo if his play doesn't improve.

I also wanted us to spend our first pick on a CB but I understand why they couldn't. Remember the top 3 CBs were off the board before we drafted at 22 (can't remember first CB name but Revis went to Jets & Ross to Giants) & don't think any other CBs rated as first rounders. When Cleveland came knocking, we got their first rounder in 08 but almost just as important, we got their high 2nd rounder in 07. We should have been in good shape with 3 picks remaining in first day of draft but the trade with the Eagles to get Spencer lost us the high 2nd rounder & a 5th rounder & we all know what followed.

We've got 4 picks on first day. Unless one of our young CB or WR steps it up in 07 season, hope we draft 2 CB, RB & WR. Would really like to see us sign a FA NT who can step in immediately when needed if Ferguson needs rest/gets hurt & who even Ferguson's eventual successor. If not, we'll have to draft a NT but not wait til last round like we did with our CBs this year. BTW: I loved the Courtney Brown pick and am disappointed coaching staff sees him as a FS and not a CB.

What cb's are out there for us too pick up?

Samuels is not an option because he wants too get paid superstar money and we still have to pay Newman.

You DO know Flo's in his LAST year of his K?

You DO know Gramatica has been stinking up the joint?

You DO know we need a TRUE FB?

BTW-Parcells didn't leave this team in GREAT shape.

Dude-give it a rest.

It is the miles, not the year.

Don't waste your time trying to argue that. Some people on this board believe as soon as a player turns 30 they lose all of their abilities.

I still think we should have taken a shot on tha kid from Georgia in the supplemental draft, but as for now, let us wait and see who is available after the roster cuts...might be able to get a veteran like we did a few years ago with Glenn to palay backup.

I am sure the scouting department is reviewing game tapes of the preseason looking for guys that may get cut and will be an upgrade or a wily vet on a team looking at youth movement
