Any chance Shy Jr. is the savior?

Jerry has been awful but at least he is in the 4th Q of his reign. Stevie will be worse but he looks to be a bad Friday night away from being out of the picture. By my estimation that leaves Shy Jr as the next in line. Now Shy has all of the trappings of a disaster. A nepo baby if there was any nepo babies. Still, we hang on to hope here.

Anyone have any intel to suggest Shy Jr. is our future genius GM?

I don't know, but he has a will of his own. He might end up mostly staying out of the real football affairs and stick to the corporate dealings, but it is up in the air.

History has shown us that money is the great equalizer of bad looks/personality.

Of course another way to lookat that, is if he is willing to throw money at acquisitions, maybe we attract better players...of course we have seen that has failed miserably as well.

This is in direct conflict with the desire to have an owner who cares about winning.

The franchise would sell for something like $20 billion to an equity group or something. It's silly to think that people making that kind of investment don't want a return on it.

I don't know if I remember Stephen's voicing his views on this, but I think I've been assuming he'll be like Jerry and have the title of both.

It seems like Charlotte and Jerry Jr. would end up becoming a more behind the scenes version of Jerry the owner (which they already are) and Stephen will still handle football operations.

But maybe there's actually a role that Jerry is filling right now that needs more attention from Stephen, and therefore Stephen offloads the GM aspect to McClay or someone else?

I think the GM is a possibility.

It's hard to fathom any family selling the license to print money. But that's why empires fall. Those who inherit them are often too inept or lacking the drive to keep them afloat.
