Any chance we catch lightening in a bottle with Weeden?

I know it's doubtful but I'm worried about Romo's back...BW is 30 but hasn't been hit much. He has ALL the physical measurables...what was main problem in Cleveland? Couldn't read defenses and check down quick enough? Not enough talent around him? Doubt he'll amount to anything but it's possible....

Doubtful. I think we could have caught a decent backup in a bottle though which is why I don't understand trying to keep Orton when he is costing us money and doesn't seem to be interested in playing. By the time Romo is done Weeden is going to be like 34

He'll be an even younger 34, though

Brandon "Very, Very Young" Weeden? No. Way too inaccurate, IMO.

SMH... If I weren't at work, this post would have the GIF of the brother shaking his head and just walking away...

Main problem in Cleveland was cleveland. I think he has a chance to come into camp and prove himself we will see.

The same chance as the number of 'e's in the word 'lightning'. None.

I watched a few of his games last year and he was awful.

Well you don't complete 52% or abouts by playing great football.

I'm not sure why Dallas views him as a developmental player. He'll be 31 this year and Romo's likely around for a few more so looking at a guy going on 34 as the new long term QB?

Doesn't make sense. I do root for him to show something in camp because Orton is just collecting a paycheck and needs to go.

I can't see him being a starter, but I guess you never know. I can easily see him being a competent backup, though. I'm not sure why NFL fans, in general, are so down on the guy. He was an old rookie who went to a bad situation as a starter. That sucks. But the guy was rated a 2nd round player by us in the draft just two years ago. No serious injuries, and at least he's had some starts. He's a no-brainer to give a shot in camp.

I like Orton, too, as a backup, though. Taking Romo's injury into consideration, I think we're actually in about as good a shape as we could be in behind him for the short term. If Tony goes down, we're not going to have a franchise potential player behind him until we draft a couple high.

I don't know if we can catch lightning in a bottle with Weeden or not but I'll say this. The chances of it are much better now that we've drafted Martin.

Lighting in a bottle, no, but if Romo has to miss a couple of games, he is capable of stepping in and playing well.

No, but in that scenario we would have a good chance of catching Mariota, Winston, Hundley or Petty

I like Mariota, Winston does nothing for me. Haven't watched much Petty and Hundley reminds me of Bridgewater. A couple of sleepers will arise as well
