Any Changes of Heart ??

Before yesterday's game I thought we'd end up 13-3 but now I think we're probably lookin' at 2-14 or so.
:laugh2:  The great Sarge has struck again. We miss you in game-chat Sarge, come back sometimes.

I'll stick with 12-4 , since that's my prediction every year. :D

preseason is preseason.you never know anything until the games count. even then it takes until weeks 4 or 5 to really know anything at all.

I believe we are still a 10-6 team, and if we can keep the injury bug away, who knows. Let's see what they get out of the game films from a coaching perspective to correct the mistakes.

remember that's the first game we had stupid penalties this preseason

Dare I say, last night's game reminded me alot of last years squad

Not really. I think Cowboys recent history indicates, it really December that shows us what Cowboys will be. Well unless they only have 4 or 5 wins by December.

Everybody always says "It's just pre-season". Well, it was supposed to be a dress-rehearsal for the regular season, and we played our absolute worst. The championship caliber teams play their best, ala NE and Chicago. As well as the Giants played Thursday, I'm expecting to lose the opener.

We have 7 players on our D that were 1st rnd picks: Ellis, Williams, Newman, Ware, Spears, Carpenter and Spencer. I know Spencer is a rookie and Ellis is hurt, but I think we could get rid of Williams, Spears and Carpenter and not miss a step. W/ this kind of "talent" we should never give up a yard, but still we can't get a sack, stop the run or cover anybody.

Anybody that thinks this is an 11-5 team is dreaming. Rick Gosselin said we are 9-7 again, and now I can see why. He said it's the same players as last year, nothing new was added. I think he's a lot closer to being right than the 12-4 crowd. I hope I'm wrong, but to me, we just don't play like a championship caliber team...

thanks for the thoughts fellow fans.
looks like most of the gloom and doomers avoided this thread.
glad to see its not time to jump off tall buildings.

Before last night, I saw picks #1 and #32 in next years draft. Now? I see picks #1 and #2.

due to life happenings I didnt watch last nights game. ( please do not revoke my fan card )
I have read tons of thoughts today on how bad we looked, how we were
mismatched, outplayed and generally smacked in the mouth.
The last 2 weeks i had read tons of stuff on how good we looked, how good
our schemes were and all that.
I had already said I thought we would go 11-5 and make it to the NFC
Championship game. I stick with my thoughts.
Has anybody here changed their thoughts on where we end up this year ?
I will be away from here for a while today and look forward to reading ya'lls
answers when i return. ( actually i just wanna see how many fair weather nancies we have ). :D

The fact that you asked this after a pre-season game baffles me. It was obvious to me that we were playing a pre-season game and the Texans were playing their Super Bowl. Keep it vanilla until it counts. In Wade I trust.

I like this thread.

I like to see all the people who want to jump ship after a pre-season game so I can know who to take seriously and who not.
You should have been able to tell that after the first two games.

:hammer: I'm not giving up hope but you are correct about pre season being fluffed off.

Did you watch the game? Houston was nothing but vanilla on defense and ran the same damn running play all night on offense. Super Bowl? The crowd was barely making any noise. Maybe it was all Cowboys fans. But hey, whatever makes you feel better. We were laughing in chat last night about who would be making this lame arse excuse today.

I watched the replay this morning and saw nothing in the way of disguised blitzes and creative offensive schemes. We're gearing up for the regular season while Houston was geared up for last night. Props to them.

Lame excuse? I prefer to call it realism. We'll see you in about 10 weeks when the ship is plugging along and you're dragging in the rear trying desperately to hop back aboard. I'll throw you a rope because I'm nice like that.

Tid bit of information. The Texans suck AND they beat the world champion Indy Colts in the regular season when it counted along with a playoff game at home on the line.

I am supposed to get upset when they beat the Cowboys in a preseason game? That will be the day.

As others have said, they're still projected as a 10-11 win team. A preseason loss doesn't change that in my mind.

we're still 2-1:D

I can't believe the level of overreaction by some to a pre-season game. We're right on schedule. Going undefeated in the pre-season doesn't count on the list of things that will net us a Lombardi trophy. It'll get you a cookie. That's about it.

Getting through the pre-season healthy while having worked on things we've practiced and had success doing so is much more important.
