Huge fan, FF9 being my favorite. Hell, I even enjoyed X-2 with it's amount of side-quests and amazing battle system. I think most people agree, 13 was a huge letdown and the sequels weren't much better. I'm not sure how i feel about XV yet. I played the demos, and they were okay. Felt a bit like every other game these days, just follow the markers, beat some baddies, and then follow the next marker. I'm not a fan of what I'm seeing on the "base taking". looks too much like Metal Gear and not at all what I'm interested in.
I think it's going to be a very mixed bag. Couple that with Square dropping the ball on the FF7 remake, and it's just an all-around disappointment for me. They still put out good portable games though.
I remember being obsessed with FF Tactics.
FF7 was the best RPG I ever played.
Eh, I dunno. They used to be my favorite games, but I think they've really gone downhill since the PS2 forward. I love 4 (US 2), 6 (US 3), 7 and 9, and enjoy the others within that range. Ten was okay, 11 (and 14) are blah online games, and 12 was interesting in regards to gameplay, but the story was pretty meh. I never even finished the first FF13 (my ex-wife stole my PS3 during the divorce and I didn't care enough to start over). The demo for FF15 is solid, but it still has a lot of things I don't care for.
I miss the old days with an overworld map. I really want to play I Am Setsuna.
I'm glad that FF7 getting a remake but a part of me wishes that the developers of the game would keep the gameplay like it was before. Maybe it just my retro self kicking because I'm sure the new gameplay for the game will be good but I'll always like the gameplay for the game.
