My friends are already getting a little testy because im catching more than them. LOL a couple wont come with me anymore. Whats working for me is live bait. Minnows and bullheads. Minnows cost 12.99 a dozen around here for the jumbo, 6.99 for large. Bullheads i can catch. But i dont have alot of patience to fish for bait lol.

Fish gods blessed me today. I caught a total of 7 fish today. But only 5 were keepers. Nice big stripers. I had to leave twice to drop my fish off at home and go back to be able to fish more. lol

Last one of the day. 18 1/2 incher

The two i threw back were id say about 15 inches.

On my last minnow i had today i had a big one hooked, but that bad boy snapped my line. I think the fish gods were telling me thats enough for the day.

I used to fish a lot when I was growing up. When I was in high school I kept my fishing poles, tackle box and shotgun in my best friends car ( he would get kicked out these days for having out shotguns in the car), he would pick me up after practice and we would go to the dam and go fishing or hunting.

I haven't been fishing in YEARS, but I am plan on making a serious effort. My youngest brother fishing bass tournaments an is on the Kansas State University fishing team, so I will have no problems getting back into freshwater fishing, but I really want to get into Salt Water fishing, both deep sea and surf-casting.

Thanks im getting hooked bad lol. I take my pole and tackle box with me to work and sneak off after virtually everyday. Today after work i went and bought a little frabill. Its a container that comes with a pump to circulate air for live minnows. Took me less than 1 minute to get a catch. Its the last striper in the pictures. And yeah i just gave my friend the remaining blood worms i had and he acted like i gave him gold lol. They work but IMO not any better than any other bait.

When I lived in Upstate New York that's what I used to do everyday after work till sundown.

You should try Sturgeon fishing in Vancouver.

After you go saltwater fishing, you really don't want to fish in the lakes or ponds anymore. :) That said, I'm going lake fishing tonight.

BTW, what's wrong with trolling? :)

Finished the year with 136 fish. Yes a counted and id say i ate about 120 of the fish lol.

I started i guess like most fishermen learning how to fish by fishing cut baits and live baits. In the area im in thats anchovies, night crawlers, minnows, butterflied shad ect. But from the summer on i got more into casting and i havent used baits in a good minute. I actually got a little hooked on buy new lures everytime i went out lol. So id say i a few hundred dollars on lures just in about 5 months.

Summer months what worked best for me were flukes and gizits. White pearl in color with a 1/2 jighead.

But my favorite has been this fall/winter fishing. And where ive spent most of my money lol. But whats killed it for me out there has been this japanese maker of crankbaits called DUO. OMG the japanese know what theyre doing. The weight differential system they have is the killer im guess. And then there is the color and the detail to the lures. Anybody who fishes with lures should have some of these cranks in their box.

Anybody that loves fishing would appreciate the detail to a lure like this

I fish all year long, but less in the winter b/c that is when I'm snowmobiling. Large and smallmouth bass, perch and bullhead. I have a cabin/camp in the Adirondacks on a lake and the cabin is 20 feet from the water. Fish, fish and fish. I caught hundreds of fish last year (every year really) and returned every one of them. I use every type of bait you can think of but when they are not biting, throw on a nightcrawler and that will immediately end your bad luck. ;)

My son wanted to go fishing over the holiday break. It hurt but I had to tell him we couldn't because it was to damn cold.

Did you say you caught your limit, took them home then went back to catch some more? That's completely illegal and if you did this, I hope you get caught and have to pay a hefty fine.

I think you better check the regs again. A daily bag limit of 2 means 2 fish per day no matter where you fish.
