Any good podcasts out there?

I spend about 2 hours a day traveling to/from work via bus/walk. I listen to 4 podcasts regularly: Simple Programmer, The Ben Shapiro Show, Sam Harris Waking Up, and The Joe Rogan Experience. Used to listen to Bill Burr's podcast but it got a little boring so I stopped. Just subscribed to a few history podcasts today that I wanna give a chance: A Teacher's History of the United States, Colin's Last Stand, and Dan Carlin's Hardcore History. Anyone have any suggestions? What are you guys/girls listening to?

Kevin Smith Smodcast called Hollywood Babble on
IMO one of his best pod cast with Ralph Garmen doing all kinds of immitations through various bits they do in front of live audiences.
Can be crude rumor with lots of adult language.
He has a bunch of different ones. One with Jay and silent bob grow old. A few comic book ones and so on.

You might like Adam Carolla pod cast...he has a few different ones but his main one is the best of the bunch IMO. His can be hit or miss.His older ones with David Alan Grier doing Teddy Pendergrast are some of the funniest podcasts I have ever listened to.

If you are into older wrestling...Stone Cold Steve Austin's pod cast can be entertaining depending on who he has on. He also normally will provide a clean and unedited version of his show so if language is
something that concerns you, you can get the clean version.

If you have android you can download the Top Comedy Podcast app (app has a yellow road sign with LOL on it). There are a bunch of different comedy podcasts on there you can link to.

As Joseephus mentioned earlier...the Nerdist podcast can be good depending on who the guest is at the time.

Norm McDonald had a pretty funny youtube channel at one time, I think you can get those in podcast form somewhere.

Harland Williams podcast is hit and miss, truthfully he is normally better when he is a guest on someone elses pod cast...but once in a while his is ok and from what I remembered his was episodes were a little shorter than the others.

If you liked that Metal Show when it was on...or like old metal and rock...Eddie Trunk has a podcast that can be pretty good and normally has good rock guests.

I'm a sucker for all of the NPR ones.

Radio Lab, This American Life, Planet Money, Hidden Brain (especially like the episode on Behavioral Economics) etc. Embedded is really interesting, but forewarning they're doing a whole Trump thing right now in season 2 (profiling cabinet members pre administration) so it's gotten more political.

Science VS is really good.

If you like Music appreciation, Song Exploder is really cool. They dive deep into songs with their composers. I really enjoyed the GoT theme and MGMT episodes.

Doesn't seem like you're into the whole Fiction/Modern Radio Drama stuff, but if you are I have some decent suggestions for you:

1. No Sleep Podcast: (horror fiction) basically voice actors read stories from the No Sleep Subreddit. Most are surprisingly good, and at this point in season 9, they're easily pushing 400-500 hours of content to pull from.

2. Tanis: Creepy modern day mystery mockumentary-- sorta x-files-ish without aliens.

3. The Truth: Short random and interesting Audio Drama stories. Usually about 15 minutes per episode. Really interesting stuff, and worth a listen probably more than the other two.

I'll probably think of more... my commute sucks less with these

I listened to it for a while. I'm a Burr fan for standup. But his podcast just wasn't very interesting to me. He'd just talk about random stuff. I prefer podcasts that talk about a specific topic or interview someone.

Forgot The Rubin Report was a podcast. Just subscribed to that. Good stuff. My wife and I were listening to Reply All on a road trip this weekend. Entertaining.

The daily from the NY times is informative. Pod Save America may be interesting depending on your political lean. Longform is enjoyable talking to magazine and newspaper writers about a longform article and their process. 1310 ticket in dallas puts about 10 snippets a day. I always listen to the Dan Patrick show or Bill Simmons podcast while working out.
