We have a free agent signing

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on March 5, 2010 12:22 AM ET

The Falcons agreed to terms on a two-year, $5 million contract with backup quarterback Chris Redman, marking the first transaction of the uncapped era.

Okay, so this is actually a re-signing. And if you want to get technical about it, it came before midnight.

Just let us have our fun.

ESPN's John Clayton broke the news, which makes a lot of sense for Atlanta. Redman, who ranked No. 48 on our top-50 free agent list, performed capably when given the chance last season.
