Any interest in JIM Johnson as our next HC?

Campo was a great DC. Not so much as head coach. Not every great coordinator makes a great HC.

Exactly. Best case in point is Norv Turner and Dave Wanstedt. If Parcells stays, I'd love to see Crenell as DC and Coughlin as our OC. Although the thought of Flozell headbutting someone every other play may make me change my mind on that one. :bang2:

Couglin? Coughlin? I think that would make the Giants play harder against Dallas.

he is'nt interested in being a hc or he would already be

From what I remeber, he had several chances to interview for a head coach spot a few years back...He said no thanks.

He likes where he is and what he's doing.

exactly - some people are very good in their roles and that leads them and others to think they could just spill out into any role and be just as successful.

I'll take the DC from Chicago/Baltimore or San Diego.
They won't part unless their contracts have expired or they have a promotion which for a coordinator is head coach.

it'd be funny if Parcells was demoted to our defensive coordinator and we got a new head coach

Parcells will retire before that would happen.

I had forgotten about Johnson turning down the interview requests. I agree that he's no spring chicken and that not every coordinator is cut out to be a HC but, man, it'd be nice to have a standout D with all the supposed pieces we have for that.

I really hope Crennell becomes available at the end of the year. That should free us up to do whatever Jerry deems necessary at HC after Parcells.

As in, Philly's Defensive Coordinator Jim Johnson. I know he'd have the same issues as Zimmer, regarding the switch from the 43 to the 34, but he's certainly proven more creative than Zimmer as a DC and I'd have to believe that he'd thrive with a Defensive scheme as versatile as the 34.

If we're fortunate enough to land Crennel as our DC next year, this may be a moot point, but I think there should be some consideration of Johnson to replace Parcells. He knows the division and always seems to put a competitive squad on the field. I know they've had run defense issues this year, but Jerry's willing to pay to keep players, unlike Philly, which should allow him to maintain some continuity.

Just a thought.
He is like Monte Kiffin he likes being a DC doesnt want to deal with the Head Coaching side.

He is WAY too old but i would certainly love him as our DC!!! Romeo Crennel would a great choice as well as our DC
