Any interest in QB T.J. Yates?

Why not?

I don't think it would hurt to find out if he's a better backup than Orton or Weeden.

I agree. Looks like weeden will be our 2. I am sure Yates is better than what we have at 3 for sure. Have to be creative when you refuse to draft a qb for the future.

can't see it happening...possibly if Orton decides to hang up the cleats officially (for that extra arm in camp)...but, they have enough QB's at the moment

Has there EVER been ANYONE cut ANYWHERE that someone here does not start this kind of thread?

I don't think there's room here now, but yes, I like him. He did a phenomenal job a couple of years ago when he was good enough down the stretch to get them to and win a playoff game.

(As a 3rd string rookie... Now that's injury problems.)

He'd probably be better off sticking to one of those Shanahan zone or WCO teams, though. This probably isn't the best system for him.

A team without a number one QB cut him. What does that tell you?

Tells me that O'Brien had four qbs, only wanted to keep three, and because Savage is a fourth round pick, they just brought over Fitzpatrick to start, and prefer Keenum, Yates was the odd man out.

I actually prefer Yates over Weeden. Yates is more accomplished (won a playoff game as a rookie) and he's 4 years younger. Now, this doesn't mean that Yates is he greatest qb ever, its just means I don't have a very high opinion of Weeden.

No...live with it!
I can understand you thinking this, but also understand people posting the question of any interest.
I actually think this is one of the more legitimate interest threads in a player.

Actually we don't have enough QB's for camp, if Orton decides to retire, or not show up.

Romo, Weeded, Haynie.
We need another QB, with the possiblilty of romo being a little limited at first. Someone to compete with Haynie for a possible 3rd QB.
Yates a better option than any rookie QB's, other than to find one for the PS. As no rookie will be considered a long term replacement for Romo. But depth is more of a concern this year, than a replacement.

I'm happy with Weeden, I know he has the talent to be a good QB and he is getting the reps in Dallas to make the most of this oppertunity.

They also have a rookie named Dustin Vaughn. They don't need a qb.

I would take a look. The backups on the roster arent world beaters.
