Any interesting prospects from other team roster cuts?

I haven't really seen anyone that would be worth cutting someone we already have for.

I did like Buster Davis, the ILB out of Fla. St. The Cardinals cut him today. He was their third round pick.

Apparently, he wasn't all that... but I really thought he would be a good pro because he has such terrific instincts. Plus, they are the Cardinals and not known for making great decisions. They didn't want Leonard Davis either.

Oh well... He's really too small for a 3-4 anyway.

and it's speed, not size that's a prerequisite for a Wade 3-4 defender

Hey, I never thought I would say this but we need LBs! I would love a pure ILB.

We just got awfully thin while Ellis is out. AZ does have decent LBs. Maybe it was numbers.

Burnett is 6-3 240 on the team website, there are some rosters like nfl.com that list 227. Buster Davis is 5-9 239, he's a Dexter Coakley type guy and will probably catch on with the Bucs, Bears, Colts, or Falcons.

Not taller... but he's a lot thicker. I really wanted us to pick him up in the draft... you know, it's a pet cat sorta thing.

He was a tackling machine at Fla. St. and was their heart and soul on defense.

Worth a look I think. Sam Mills did it in a 3-4... I think he could too. Just develop him over time. He might play better in Phillips scheme (simple to learn) than he did in Arizona. The coaches said they didn't see in person what they had seen on film. That could be because he was tentative and didn't know their defense well.

Seriously, he was all over the place for Fla. St. With his squat build, his lateral quickness is terrific.

I would worry about him in coverage though.

Still, that would be a pickup for the future and what he could possible do. I'd try to sign him to the PS and see how he looks.
