This whole process is putting a clamp on Jerry walkers vacation plans. Instead of hopping on the Bravo Eugenia and port hopping between St Martin's and St Barts, he's gotta interview potential new coaches. Not sure how he will handle the stress...
Buckle up butter cups, it's gonna be an exhausting process.

Could be that OR they purposely made it so unworkable that they knew what the outcome would be . The Jones Boys roll like this and YES they would do this to a HC and entire staff if so compelled just outta spite after the GB loss. Thats why they didn't fight for DQ when he left. They were unhappy with him on the heels of the GB game. Believe me when I tell you all, the Jones bunch hold grudges and the desired outcome was MM walking. Thats why they never discussed another deal. They made things so uncomfortable for Fat Mike that he finally said I can't do it. It was mutual. I think we will have our next HC by this coming Monday. They likely have had it narrowed down to about 3 guys since last offseason. Zimmer being 1 of them but I think hes retiring. He wants no more of this long-term. Gruden is the name and Lincoln Riley, Witten, that are all realistic. The Deion thing was contrived for the fans to consume to make us think Jerry is trying hard. Deion wins Jerry wins. Deion gets more money and Jerry gets attention. I think when push comes to shove, it will be Jon Gruden. Hes a free agent, hes a SB winner, and he brings discipline. Hes the anti-Mike McCarthy. He still connects with todays players.
Agree with pretty much most of this except the Sanders thing. Deion is currently in negotiations with Colorado with offer in front the regents and Deion leaked this not Jerry. This was a bargaining move for Deion. I dont think Deion is a serious candidate for Dallas. He wouldnt be able to draft all of his boys which he said was a requirement if he went to the NFL level.. I dont know if we will have a coach by next monday or if it will be Gruden, I think Bill B. 10 m buyout is real if the interest in Deion is bc his buyout is the same. Its conflicting info on Steve S buyout being 45m to 6m and Rileys is apparently 90-95m which sounds crazy and I dont think Jerry would come close to touching. I think its going to be Bill B. I dont think they want the PR show for Gruden.

How are we not behind? Some teams have already interviewed the top candidates
The next HC could still be coaching in the playoffs. Or come from the college ranks. Who knows what Jerry is thinking. One thing is clear, no one has been hired that Jerry would have hired. So we aren't behind.

We are two days post McCarthy and we were already behind the rest of the teams in terms of finding a new coach. I haven't heard of any interviews set up or taken place unless you count Deion. What's the holdup? Is Jerry really gonna wait till all the good candidates are hired and take one who will work for cheap because there is no competition at that time?? Has anyone heard of any scheduled interviews?
How stupid did JJ handle the last two weeks? The NFL allows teams a small window to interview assistant coaches who are in the playoffs before the playoffs start. JJ sat on his hands waiting, missed the first interview window when other NFL teams were able to get a head start on interviews.

Now, until hot name coaches like Ben Johnson or Aaron Glenn or Joe Brady are at least past the conference championship games, the Cowboys are stuck having to wait…even IF Jerry has any intentions of interviewing any of those young guys! Incompetence at the GM position really kills us.

Booger has it covered. He’s been sending telegrams setting up meetings. Plus there’s no danger of any of the candidates Booger is pursuing getting hired by another team. He’ll drag this out till SB weekend and then announce the hire. Because as we all know if you’re being talked about on SB weekend it’s the equivalent of winning a Lombardi.

Yeah, don't expect anything till after season most likely. I still think Zimmer has already spoken with JJ and is the fallback option or even the 1st option (gotta appease fans and analysts to fulfill the Rooney and interview some decent coaches for face value only).
