Unfortunately I wasn't able to watch the game last night but am especially curious on how Jaylon played. Any feedback? How many snaps, did he show improvement? How did he look physically?

Scout's Notebook: Damontre' Moore's Impact, Wilson's Busy Night; More

The trainers continue to have a plan for Jaylon Smith and it appears to be working well. Despite a miss on his first attempted tackle in the hole, I thought he did a better job as his snaps wore on. His movement forward is not an issue, but it’s the lateral movement that I had a question about. I wanted to see him get outside with quickness, and I thought he was able to do just that -- which was an improvement from what we saw last week. He appears to be getting more comfortable with his overall game, and we are also starting to see his ability to read plays return. That is a great sign.

Jaylon was around the ball quite a bit from what I seen. Now a few times he may arrived on the latter part of the play, but he was hustling to the ball. But this can be said of many players in the NFL too. But to me this was a good sign.

he had a few tackles, and another one was a great play on his part, and showed his vision and awareness.
He dropped back, like he was supposed to do in a passing situation or look from the offense, but as soon as he seen it was a run. He patiently waited to see how it was going to develop, then went straight ahed and stuffed the play for a 3 yard yard. I think it was 3 yards.

He did not blow any assignments that I could see, but I am no expert on what he is to do on each play. Not many can view that on live TV and say what they coaches intentions are. Though many think they can. LOL.

I am not concerned his all that, as he will progress and get better and better. it is how his ankle feels the next day or so after, how fatigued will it get, and during the games as well. He runs and jumps around on the sidelines later in the games, so that is a good sign too.

I am one to believe, as time goes on, the more he plays, the quicker he will get to 100%. Can't get there by sitting and waiting.

He seemingly took another step forward in his confidence and movement. He did have a bad missed tackle on a RB coming up the middle of the line that he whiffed on. He later read a screen play well and got to the RB for a nice TFL.

Things are pointing up for #54.

Last week he looked very stiff and awkward to me. This week he looked like a normal NFL caliber LB. He made a huge leap forward in a week to my untrained eye.

Agreed. But his whiff did not look as bad as Sean Lee's...

Lateral movement in this game was much better. Did not look as awkward as the first game.

Jaylon struggled. His feet are all over the place, and he can't plant with his left foot.

Then a fat running back out can him up the sideline.

He's not ready yet.
