Just checked Cowboys website and there no listing yet of any Parcells PC today but I thought I had read either Friday/Saturday someplace that he would be available today at 1:30 PM Dallas time. Has anybody heard anything yet about any PC? Thanks.

But I haven't seen anything elsewhere.

Well....nothings on, so I'd have to assume the schedule changed.

Here's what I got of it.

- Why not name an offensive coordinator?
Sometimes the guy with the most experience doesn't have a lot of depth in the passing game. Its difficult to have an OL coach work as the OC because he's not familiar, yet may be the most experienced guy. Its been kinda unique here in that respect. You want to acknowledge that plus in Tony's case Payton was trying to get him down there as the OC, but who do you think is calling the plays in New Orleans? He was using that to get him down there.

- Will you be the offensive coordinator?
I dunno. We've spent time this offseason altering things and we'll do things collectively and let everyone contribute, but at the end of the day I'll be the one that's responsible for what goes on on the field.

- Is Chris just going to be the QB coach only?
Chris wanted to get back in coaching and I thought he'd fit good with Drew. I feel like he's the steady voice of reason influence.

- Will you be reluctant to let Tony and Todd call plays?
No, I think I'd let them. Chris would be in the mix because he has called plays a lot, but we'll see how it goes. They'll get called on.

- Are you big on one voice?
The gameplan and how we teach it is constructed by a number of voices.
A long time ago when I joined the league, several of the head coaches advised me to never let the assistant coach be the game manager, because they don't have the perspective of the whole team. No matter how good they are at what they do, you have to keep a watch on that. I won't be calling everything either, but I want it to go a certain way.

- Tony Romo?
I'm hoping he comes along pretty soon and shows enough to be competent enough to play him. I'm very hopeful about that...that he's at that point where we can put him in. You didn't want to throw him to the wolves in the past. I'll play him quite a bit in preseason. No, the #1 QB spot isn't up for grabs. Re: Washington game...I'm one of the guys that lets the captain go down with the ship.

- What was your message to the team before this camp?
Just trying to tell them what I thought the division was going to be--that its going to be competitive and that our out of conference games will be strong teams. We won't have much breathing room and we'll have to play very well and win on the road. All of our division teams are in the same boat.

- Do you buy into Super Bowl talk?
I'll tell you what I told them (the team). Put it on tape, and let the fans, opponents, and every see it. Let's not talk about it.

- Why do you think Greg is a standup player?
I didn't say he was going to be a standup player, but he's a pressure player. He has the bodytype to be on the perimeter and be a pressure player. College scouts are looking for these types of players. It's a unique thing, just like Ware. Greg fits in that mold. Other than that, we'll try to let talent flourish as it can. That's one thing i try to do...and I do think he fits into that in this defense.

- Feeling for the openness of the LG position?
Well, you know we signed Kosier with the hope that h'ell fit in there. I'll see some games this summer with the other guys. Those other guys will be play quite a bit. We won't be wearing Rivera at so they'll be active. If someone showed up big we'll have to consider them. Other than Rivera....it's not wide open, but if someone shows up big you have to.

- Did Greg show reservations?
Not really. Greg hasn't ever been...Look, players chase stats. They believe that translates to money. Just like the media chases controversy cause that sells. Sometimes, both of those things are traps for the team and at the end of the day this is not about having a .325 batting average. I discourage all contract incentives that include yards, sacks, etc. that encourage a player to play outside of the system. I dont want that in contracts. At the end of the day this is a team competition. This isn't solitaire. If a player will work at his job, things will fall into place. (Tony Larussa quote). If you always compare your salary to others you're always going to be miserable. However, I'm for egos, because that helps you win the individual stuff. (another Larussa quote).

- Do you sense Greg uses fear of failure as a motivator? Yeah, but you don't care what the motivation is.

I'll see you guys in oxnard.

See you in OxNard!!

I've learned from co-workers that are CA natives that it's pronounced OxNerd with the emphasis on OX.

So Jerry has been pronouncing it right...lol
