Eh, every starting position (especially those with marginal players) should be open to competition. Garrett should say he'll be competing for a spot at OT and not limit it to a backup. It removes incentive for both Green and Free. Poor leadership as usual.

His core has improved VASTLY since last year..... Stronger & more balanced

Said his footwork is a sight to behold

If, as they state...... Expect to be very surprised.... Can see him taking over Ala' Collins last year

The coaches love Doug Free, they know what they have in the veteran tackle and Chaz Green has zero experience at this point.

Green needs to stay healthy and set his sights on bypassing Charles Brown, the current swing tackle.

If all goes well this year, the battle with Free for RT will be slated for 2017.

Got to crawl before you walk. The staff is much higher on free than fans. Chaz just needs to play well and his time will come

I have hope for the kid. He looks good. the 2 main knocks on him is he cant stay healthy and needed to add functional strength. Dude looks like he has take care of the strength part lol. Just stay healthy kid and finish off our amazing line.

I'm gonna be rooting for this guy. Think the year in the weight room and training will have been very good for him. Not sure, but isn't this Free's last year under contract ?
Feel like Green will play the swing this year, and succeed Free the following. And I would be happy with it. If for some reason Free gets hurt or his foot plays up, Green should by-pass Brown as the swing and become our next RT. When we drafted him he was a huge chubby guy. Not anymore, he looks pretty in shape, hope it bodes well for the guy - and the team.
As an aside, do we red shirt one guy from every draft group ???
