I heard several times Noah Brown is doing well. But no one elaborates on that comment.
Nothing in any detail.

I have not seen or heard anything on Ivie or Carrell.

On another note, I seen where Rico got in a scuffle with Wilber. and Rico was escorted off the field.

They're sitting Ivie until they can figure out a way they can run a functioning offense while he's on the field. He's actually counterproductive right now.

And it was one of those really nice catches too, not just an easy layup type.

I would say Ivie has the best shot at the 53, just because of Irving's suspension.

Ivey had a good reps showing quickness. Carrell had a couple decent reps. Brown made a nice td.

Neal is about the only one of the UDFAs making noise at the moment.

With the three ends being suspended, he should make the roster.

Last year, he was the most ridiculous looking player I've ever seen in a preseason game. He looked like a giraffe on roller skates on a run play.

With Irving and Moore facing suspensions, I could see Ivie being kept if he shows anything.

I have Lawrence, Crawford, Charlton, Mayowa, Tapper at end, and Collins, Thornton and Paea at tackle. That gives us eight linemen with Irving and Moore out. I had us carrying nine or 10, so I think Ivie could end up as a placeholder. However, he might have to beat out Neal for that spot ... although we could carry both.

Here's how I see the defensive depth on the 53 after the first week of practice:

DE (6) Tyrone Crawford, DeMarcus Lawrence, Taco Charlton, Benson Mayowa, Charles Tapper, Lewis Neal
DT (4) Maliek Collins, Cedric Thornton, Stephen Paea, Joey Ivie (Crawford and Neal can also play tackle)
LB (7) Sean Lee, Anthony Hitchens, Jaylon Smith, Justin Durant, Mark Nzeocha, Kyle Wilber
CB (5) Orlando Scandrick, Anthony Brown, Chidobe Awusie, Jourdan Lewis, Marquez White
S (4) Byron Jones, Jeff Heath, Xavier Woods, Kavon Frazier

Suspended: David Irving, Damontre Moore, Damien Wilson, Nolan Carroll

Without the suspensions, Ivie would definitely just be a PS contender. John Lotulelei, Lenny Jones and Robert Blanton are possibilities to take his or one of the other spots.

Lately, his maturity has been grade level as well. Hearing about him throwing his helmet several times is getting old.
