If so, have any of you picked up his latest: The Afghan Campaign? It is a novel about Alexander the Great's battles in Afghanistan, and is told from a simple soldiers POV. Very much a tale of one naive lad's journey (led by dreams of glory) to becoming a hardened soldier, and how much of his "innocence" he loses along the way. A good read so far, especially if you have already read his previous novel Virtues of War. Also gives great insight into what our forces today face in that land.
