TCG = trading card games

I played magic as a teenager and recently found hearthstone. I didn't think it was going to be fun because at first glance it looks like a really water down version of magic (30 cards per deck, hero classes/powers, and a different economy system.)

I was wrong. Hearthstone is free to play and you can open up card packs with in game gold and doesn't necessarily require cash. What makes hearthstone different as well is that there are "classes" such as a Mage, warrior , shaman, warlock, etc which have unique class cards and a hero power that perform different actions. For example as a warlock you can draw a card and take 2 damage where a warrior can gain 2 armor if you use your hero power. The economy system consists of gaining 1 mana crystal per turn with 10 being the highest. You also start with 30 life and as soon as you or your opponent get to zero the game ends. You could legitimately get all the cards without spending any money, it just takes a lot of patience and grinding. What makes it better is that you could play it on your phone, tablet, or computer and it works flawlessly. It's accessibility is what I really enjoy about it and the ladder system is pretty sweet too. You don't need to carry multiple decks or go through the hassle to find people to play with in person to get a game going.

Another big thing is that they release new cards pretty frequently which included 2 expansions and "adventures" where you unlock more cards.

Any zoners play at all? If you are a TCG enthusiast I would recommend giving hearthstone a shot, it's definetly worth it.

Ps a new adventure with 45 new cards comes out on Thursday. It was announced this weekend. Hearthstone is based off of characters in the Warcraft universe so you will see a lot of famairlty if you played any games in the Warcraft series.

I play Hearthstone on a regular basis - mostly ranked play. My highest season finish was Rank 4 but I'm not that serious about it to be super competitive.
