Have not heard or seen anything. But I thought he would not be able to get back until about the 3rd week of August.

No news is good news.

If we did get any news, it would be the standard...he is progressing according to this type of injury and recovering. He is on schedule.
My fear though is when he does return, it will be same...we are taking it 'day to day" the bring him back slowly as not to re-injure it...
So have resigned my self to Collins will not contribute until at least half way through the season. Maybe even keep him on PUP until / if needed. As these things never seem to work in out favor.

I'm guessing he had his surgery on May 27, that would put him tomorrow at 6 weeks in. Originally prognosis was 10-12 weeks.

Thanks, that leave 4-6 weeks left for his return. Which in turn is August 4th through the 18th. Considering our first game is Sept. 11th, that leaves him from 5.5 weeks to 3.5 weeks back before the first game and the possibility of playing on all of the preseason games or 2 at the lower end.

I've got a good feeling about this kid, fast off the ball when I watched his tape.

Lord knows we need a young stud.

Now we would potentially have a nice young core on this DL if a couple guys can stay out of trouble.

Amen! with this guy, I hope he has better shoes. I was wondering if he was wearing those light shoes that helps with speed, but doesn't give support and can cause fractures.

Hopefully your feeling is correct about him. Also hope he is able to return before TC ends and suffers no setbacks once he is back. Foot injuries are always tricky especially on a 300 pounder who wrestles with other 300 pounders down after down.

I read something a few days ago noting he was on schedule with his recovery and should be available after training camp begins.

Edit: It was Todd Archer (ESPN) who recently reported Collins would be back well into training camp and would be a good candidate for PUP.
