i think (just a guess of course) that they would like to move Jaylon around if he is truly healthy
Helman brought up a point about using him like Kris Richard did Bruce Irvin in Seattle, letting him play sam and edge or as Marinelli says rotate through mike to give your 3 starters around 10 snaps of rest in a game
anyway here is the quote from Marinelli
also i agree about Jaylon natural as your will, when Lee is done its a given that he takes the position full time with Vander Esch a natural mike
Yep. Jaylon at SAM. LVE at MLB. Jaylon move to WLB when Lee retires.
But I don't like Marinelli's talk about "competing for a spot". In the base, there are 3 spots. We've got 3 good LBs. The point should be to make best combined use of them, not see who is best at any spot.
If Jaylon is better than LVE at Mike, as he almost certainly is today, what then? LVE sits? Does Jaylon sit if LVE is better?
I can't imagine even our coaches would be dumb enough to sit the loser of the MLB competition between Jaylon and LVE, only to trot Damien Wilson out onto the field at SAM.
