Any way for the Cowboys get Slater, Farley, and Moehrig?

They like to hit. Moehrig doesn't. BIG DIFFERENCE.

The point is that you seem to discount Moehrig as a FS because he lacks speed. But as someone noted, two of the best FS in recent years were Thomas and Harrison Smith and neither was much faster than Moehrig. Ergo, writing him off as a FS because he's not fast enough seems a bit illogical.

Like I said, those other two like to hit and are excellent at support against the run. Totally the opposite of Moehrig.

Remember when Roy Williams was our starting Strong Safety? He was great until he started suffering injuries due to his physical hits. So the Cowboys moved him to Free Safety where he got exposed badly due to his lack of speed (4.53 40 time) and inability to cover fast and quick WRs deep. I feel the same will happen to Moehrig.

What does hitting have to do with being fast enough to play FS? Thomas and Smith were not faster than Moehrig and both are excellent FS.

Hence writing a guy off like you have because of his 40 time is a bit much.

The Roy Williams comparison is bizarre too.

Debating with someone who didn't play the game is bizarre too.

What else have you heard then?
Surtain is their guy unless Pitts or Sewell fall. Then it would make it really hard. What people don’t realize is the Cowboys use a vote system for disagreements. Jerry, Stephen, McClay, and whoever the HC is all have a 1/4 vote.

If all 3 are gone they will try and trade out and if they can’t it’s Zaven Collins. Don’t like Horn’s tackling@ 10.

Moehrig is a FS and a hard hitting one. Needs more discipline on the double moves but he's the best available

Trevon Moehrig is a free safety that has satisfied multiple roles for the Horned Frogs. A consistent and urgent single-high player, he’s a free-flowing mover that’s at his best when able to patrol the middle of the field. With seven career interceptions, he’s proven to not only be a constant ball disruptor, but he’s a safety that can change the momentum of games by getting the ball back to his team. His biggest improvements must come in run support, as he’s a safety that isn’t afraid to come up and tackle, but his tactics and aggressiveness while doing so can be out of control. Moehrig is also reliable in man coverage, but his eye discipline while doing so will need to improve as he is premature with looking back to the quarterback, which is why he’s been a popular double-move target for opposing offenses.

Ideal Role: Starting free safety.

Scheme Fit: Heavy Cover 1 or Cover 3 free safety.
