His injury looked like it could be pretty bad. Any word on his condition?

Looked like a hyper extended knee. Probably be out 2-4 weeks (IMO).

Injury concerns: Safety Matt Johnson was off to a good start as he started the game, but he was hurt tracking down Bumphis on a 45-yard catch-and-run. He suffered a left ankle sprain and did not return. Defensive end Ben Bass hurt his left knee and did not return to the game, but appeared to be fine on the sideline. He did not go to the locker room for an X-ray and he did not receive extra attention from the athletic training staff. Tanner hurt his left arm in the first quarter but was able to return to the game.

Sounds fine.

Ben Bass is a pet cat of mine. I think he's got a chance to develop into an actual player, given time. This season I'm just counting on him for some relief snaps, if he can stay on the field. He's dodged more bullets than Keith Davis so far this camp.

He started to get up and they told him to get back down. The shot right before he got up you can tell they were asking him questions while checking his meniscus, ACL, and PCL, He shook his head to all the questions and they stood him up and he walked off under his own powers.

I get the impression that the training staff has told players that if they feel dinged then get it looked at rather than presume that you are okay. Matt Johnson takes it to an extreme but the Bass exchanged corroborated the idea.

Yeah, that test they gave (stabilizing the foot and pull from under the knee) him was for his ACL. They were ruling out what the could on the field to make sure he didn't inadvertently do more damage. It looked like a hyperextension, to me.
