Has there been any word on whether or not we will see Tony Parrish start or get lots of playing time on Sunday?

Who cares...none of these scrubs can cover a receiver. My grandmother would do a better job than these cast offs.

Tony P should start.
Two days on the team and he should start? over Roy?

You guys don't get it, Parcells said he's backing up Roy. He's not here to replace KD or Watkins.

Maybe or maybe not but understand he was working out at FS last Friday. We should know in a day or so if he getting any work this week at FS. Parrish has mostly played SS in the NFL but he did also get some time in at FS years ago. Understand initially Cowboys brought Parris in cause he could back up Williams at SS (Elam only considered a ST at this point in his caree) but might also be able to contribute at FS. Shoot, if he can breathe, he'll play better then either Davis or Watkins (at this point in W's career).

I didn't hear that. I thought Parcells said that Parrish is coming in as a free safety.

I've been trying to find the recap for it. Because I believe it was more about his concern on going into a game with only Elam as Roy's backup and him not having any experience in the regular defense.

Can't seem to locate it, but I know I read it somewhere. Here or dc.com.

Crash Course

Newly-acquired Cowboys safety Tony Parrish has been working overtime to learn the team's defensive scheme as quickly as possible, putting in extra time on Saturday and Monday.

Parrish, a nine-year veteran who spent four years in Chicago before joining the 49ers, said it was only a matter of time before he picked up the Cowboys' defensive schemes.

"I guess this will be my sixth system," said Parrish, claimed by the Cowboys off waivers Dec. 7. "I've been around a lot of turnover and I've been able to pick up defenses pretty quickly so that's something I believe will help me. I'm still waiting to get warm, I haven't even been here a week yet."

Parrish was inactive for the New Orleans game since he arrived here at Valley Ranch in time for only Friday's practice, but watched his new unit from the sideline. He said there are similarities in the Cowboys' scheme to defenses he has played in before.

"I've played in five systems previously, so after a while there isn't too much defense you can just create," said Parrish, who has been playing strong safety for more of his career.

Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells said Monday he hoped Parrish could provide stability and veteran leadership to both the free safety and strong safety positions. The Cowboys will attempt to have him ready for Saturday night's game at Atlanta, possibly as a nickel safety.

"We're just looking for a little veteran savvy," Parcells said. "I was just trying to get a little more experience that might not need quite as much repetition, and he has played both positions since he's been in the league a while now."

In other words, Parcells wants a guy he can count on in special situations who doesn't need to get a significant amount of reps during the week in practice. Parrish had 30 interceptions in eight seasons in the NFL, and this year with San Francisco he had 18 tackles and no picks while appearing in nine and starting five.

The trio of Roy Williams, Keith Davis and Pat Watkins continue to give the Cowboys fits when playing a Cover 2, and especially in their nickel package.
