Someone noted yesterday that it wasn't serious because they weren't x-raying it.

That someone is not very smart.

How do you xray a groin? I think the lead sheet would get in the way. Either that, or your nuggets get McFried!

Usually you are more interested in the SI joint, pelvis, acetabulum and hip in injuries with deep pain in the groin area.

Given that his injury was atraumatic, extremely unlikely to have a significant bone or joint injury.

Only thing I saw in todays paper...which was not promising...was that some were concerned because Henry heard a "popping noise".

I also don't think that the lack of news out of the Ranch bodes well.

They seem to be much quicker at releasing news when the injuries are known to be minor.

Not uncommon in muscle injuries.

If the inference is ligamentous injuries, these are not common in the hip because the ligaments are very, very strong.

I think "atraumatic" is a nice way of saying he didn't take a shot in the goodies.

Oh, yes, indeed! Smashed goodies is not good!

He should be fine by the Eagles game. But he may not be practicing much this week. Good thing we have a bye week and basically an extra day also.

Honestly, you can't really make any final conclusions based on an X-ray or what a physician may diagnose upon initial contact with the patient. How many times have we heard the famous "6-8" weeks turn into 4 months. It could be better or worse than expected. With injuries like this, the player will just have to demonstrate his comfort level. And you won't know that until later this week. Even the term "trauma" is subjective depending how you define it. Even with no joint or ligament tearing, muscles can still be tender.

I agree with not attempting to prognosticate early on with musculotendinous injuries. It could be very minor or it could linger quite awhile. We'll know things are minor if he is back practising with his teammates soon.
